The Washington Island Ferry Line schedule is down to six daily trips each way, between Door County's Northport Pier and Detroit Harbor on Washington Island.  The ferry route crosses the channel which connects Green Bay with Lake Michigan north of Door County.

Unlike the Madeline Island Ferry Line in northwest Wisconsin, which shuts down once the Lake Superior ice between Bayfield and LaPointe becomes too thick, the Washington Island Ferry Line offers daily ferry service all year round, weather permitting.

As of December 3, the ferry schedule will be reduced to four trips per day each way, with no afternoon trips on Christmas Day.  And from January 3 through March 31, there will be only two trips per day each way.  Between December 20 and March 31, vehicle reservations are required in advance.   

The trip takes about thirty minutes and the round trip fee is $24 per automobile plus $10 per passenger.  Children ages 6 through 11 travel for just $5.  The Washington Island Ferry Line accepts VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
