You've heard of Pavlov and his dogs? Well, we're all a lot like that, and most of us don't even realize it. One of the benefits of good coaching is that you become self-generative and motivated, rather than relying on outside influences or circumstances and accountability to get and keep you going.

Major areas to work on that provide this shift are:

· Trusting one's own intuition (self), even in the face of disagreement, circumstances, or reality.
· Becoming fully responsible for one's self, life, and problems, because responsibility permits choice.
· Accepting what is so, telling the truth, and knowing that everything is exactly as it should be right now.
· Placing one's emotional and physical balance as the number one focus.

My Dad always used to say "Develop a sense of urgency." I follow it to this day.

Chris-- You are correct. Going into the new year ,with all this negative press about real estate we all need

to have a positive "inlook" and outlook about it all. Start with yourself and good things will come of it. mike

As you point out, we should strive to remain in control and be proactive not reactive.

I agree with you 100%, especially in trusting your own intuition even if it disagrees with other .  I have been in some form of sales all my life and use to be good at it.  Being new to Real Estate I have relied on other opinions due to their years of experience and my lack of it.  What I have found is I am not preforming like I want to.  I have always relied on my instincts and intuition and now I question everything I due, I am out of my comfort Zone.  This week I decided to go back to "ME" and the way I use to sell.  Just making this decision has made me feel better about myself again.

Chris,

Good blog- as a personal trainer and motivator I've had no problem teaching it, having moved into the real estate business I find it a little harder to practice then to preach.

One of the reasons "I don't take floor hours", if I have to sit and wait for something to happen then I have contradicted everything about me.  So I let other agents whom need the time and I go out and get it...

The other thing is when ever something is not going right I look in a mirror first.. I physical find a mirror.. Try it it works.
