Reuters and Blogburst became a fast friends of mine

I just learned something about blogging. You do not need many comments on your post.... and n o....you do not need to be featured on Activerain to get two of your blogs syndicated on Reuters. Here is the recap from my experience. I was invited to join Blogburst and if you read the other posts you'll understand what Blogburst is for. That is not what this post is about.

I wrote a post for Blog Action Day. It was original and it had some photos of the outside of my home. It was called Weston Florida homes go Green with Solar Pool Heating. I accidentally found it because I had not logged in there much. I noticed it was linked to Reuters and was showing it had over 50,000 views. Renee Burrows should check too. She had that little badge on her blog and I just wandered in like a little pup looking for a biscuit:) So I thank her for that!

The other day I wanted to track it and I noticed something else....Reuters syndicated my follow up post My Blog was picked up on Reuters as well. Am I just in a dream or did they really do it?.....I checked again and the link was still there. What is going on here? Did lightning strike twice?

Go check it out if you want to try to get your blog syndicated. I don't know about the rest...that's just too cool to me. Oh ...just an update to this I also Believe that adding your RSS and atom feeds to as many sites as you can also seem to help generate more traffic and exposure.

My blog was turned down by blogburst. Guess I'll wait until my outside one is up and running and resubmit.

I saw the headline impressions and the emails/phone calls have been overwhelming! YAY US!

It's so funny how people accuse me of being a point monger, having no business so I talk to other Realtors, too wrapped up on AR but really, it is about stuff like this and the leads/clients/relationships/networking/customers we get from our efforts.

My blog that I hide from the AR peeps is pointed to around 100 syndication sources and that is my fifth source of traffic to my website.

Syndication is cool :)

Pretty cool Neal. 50,000 hits is amazing!! But.....alas....I submitted my blog to Blogburst and it was rejected. I guess I wasn't good looking enough for them:) Maybe I'll submit "Blogging Bertha" and see what they say.

Thanks for your support. I can't tell you why...I don't run Blogburst and you are right-there are some very good writers..I guess it depends on the subject they are looking for? They obviously had some sort of interest in Green or environment stories since that is what they picked up. Virtually I wrote it not knowing at all that they were kind enough to like it.

That's a worthy discovery. We all can use additional marketing tips and you sure delivered one here. This definitely has to be explored. Getting 50,000 views and a syndication should get your blood moving faster.

I hope you've made copies of that so that you can include them in your listing presentations and your buyer packages.
