Are you LINKED-IN? Last night I made another terrific connection through Active Rain and was able to introduce my connection to my husband (who is in the exotic car business) through www.linkedin.com/in/JackHDavis .

A small world made even smaller by the advances in Internet technology, I found that the gentleman's wife had also worked in the auto business (which I had, too--she, Lexus, me, BMW). Synchronized, the connection we were able to discover were fun and  amazing. For instance, after long, separate careers my new friends married, and as a couple now they work together in the Mortgage business. Like them, my husband and I strive to work together as a professional couple whenever we can. My husband was stationed in Coronado; they are 20 miles north. My husband was a UDT, this man not only knows what this is but plays golf with a whole group of them.

The man I met through Active Rain I was drawn to because of a simple blog post, and what followed is we have grown to know he, his family, and more about his business by visiting Linked-In. Since we have bi-coastal clients with our connection to Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, and car collectors, I can now recommend his company through my Active Rain/ Linked-IN connection. In return, I am not present and visibly available to any of his connections on Linked-In should they be in need of real estate services in the DC Metro Northern Virginia region.

I'm available as a connection through Linked-In as a writing professional, education consultant, car girl, and real estate agent. How about you? Add your profile and visit me at www.linkedin.com/in/KaeDavis . If we have connections, let's link the Active Rain real estate network and make some professional referral associations. As for the man we met, I am happy to give you an introduction to him though my network. I'll give you a hint, though... visit www.mortgagereports.com for more information.

Are you LINKED-IN?

Kindest regards,

I am "LinkedIn" and like it very much.  I particularly like the question and answer section.

My first real estate referral came via LinkedIn. It is definitely one of the top 3-4 sites that should be included in any online networking strategy.

John--what other networks are you working on? I know you and I have already connected on Linked-In, but I'd love to grow my business in new Internet directions. Keep me posted here or feel free to reply by email to kaedavis@gmail.com.

Hi Kae, I am currently Linkedin but haven't done much with my connections. Perhaps we can help each other for referrals there. I'd welcome more connections.

I don't think I've heard of Linkedin.  Interesting.  Thanks for sharing!

Kae, I have never had good luck from LinkedIn. I have better luck here.

Danny--sorry to hear the networking through Linked-In has not been successful for you. Many of my husbands clients in the highline auto business have been thrilled to see him connect for specialty items such as Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini. Following through with them has been very beneficial to him, and my profile there has been a great way to let folks know I am coming into the DC/NVA real estate markets as an agent. We also enjoy the opportunity to give professional service recommendations to our clients there (something we can't do here). Give it time, link through your OUTLOOK program, and keep posting here at Active Rain. I think both services are excellent, but tech tools are only good as much as can empower them for use.

Thanks, Gary! I will be glad to have another Network connection to send referrals in Dallas, and in return, hopefully you will think of me when you have a lead for a referral here in the DC Virginia markets! Keep us in mind if you run into any highline car collectors, too... we trade limited edition exotic cars all over the nation and internationally, too.

PROMOTE GOODWILL IN BUSINESS.

Hey, y'all! I just added three more Active Rain Connections to my linked in, and will be pleased to refer services to them in the event I have clients relocating to their part of the nation!

And Gary, YES! Please contact us if you have auto needs or car enthusiast clients. We'd welcome the Active Rain connection!

Hi Kae - Facebook and Gather have my attention right now, and I'm looking at ning and cre8buzz in the near future. Twitter is also a great social networking tool. I'll be writing about these on ActiveRain as I get them set up.
