What is fueling Green growth in Nevada?

Southern Nevada has always had several major home builders that consistantly built only Energy Star rated homes. Most of those have been doing so for the last several years, but now we are starting to see green projects pop up as well. You can read the rest of the article here. -cr

Hi Jacqulyn,

It is interesting to hear that "going green" is also becoming popular in Las Vegas.  It is still a very new concept for builders here in Reno.  There is a demand though.  I think our builders have to shift to "going green".  Thanks for the post.

Jacqulyn: Builders were the first to understand their homes sold better if they became green, both in terms of allowing buyers to purchase more home (EEM mortgages) but because they were able to recycle their wastes and save money.  As your area becomes more populated, I believe you will also find people trying to save what little rain falls by using cisterns or other storage methods.
