Plans for Route 47 - McHenry & Kane Counties are taking a proactive approach in planning for the development and improvement of Route 47. Earlier this month, Woodstock City Council approved an intergovernmental agreement with McHenry and Kane Counties to share in the cost of the study of the corridor. If all three governments agree, City of Woodstock would pay $5,000, McHenry County would pay $10,111 and Kane County would pay $12,889 which would make state money and local matching funds of $280,000 available for the study. This study could start as early as spring 2008 and look at land use, controlling traffic congestion, and economic development along the corridor.
