I Ain't No French Maid!!

Last night we had our long planned for 2cd Annual PIC Charity Auction Fund-Raiser. It was held at the Plasuwa Country Club in Pembroke, New Hampshire. I don't know yet how much money we raised but I do know we really had a Blast!

This years venue was more conducive to a fun evening. room It was smaller (seats about 100) and with the tablecloths, candles and flowers it was a very warm and friendly atmosphere! bar There was a very nice Buffet and a Cash Bar. We had several raffles (always popular) even a 50/50...cash draws them in every time!

Terre Brownell of Arrow Auctions was our Auctioneer. Terre Terre generously donated his time last year too. The crowd absolutely loves him his banter and wit are completely entertaining and he can nudge an extra dollar out of the tightest of wallets!

We table had lots of really fun items. The most popular were the Weekend Overnites at Various Hotels and Dining Certificates. There was a whole lot of intense variety to choose from auction items Even tickets to the Boston Ballet and The Blue Man Group.

The Signed Red Sox Baseball did very well but the best selling item of the evening was the Personal Chef, Dinner for 8, served in your own home. The dinner was donated Logo by My Brother a Chef in Maine. The Servers will be the PIC Executive Director and Me (I'm the Board Chair). I was thrilled that it was the highest bid item........ This is the rowdy group that bought us! auction

There was one stipulation I must vehemently disagree with, they want us to dress as French Maids... Problem??

Come on! Just for one dinner!!

Joan- glad your auction went so well.....and are you sure you aren't going to dress as a French Maid????? that's funny...whose idea what that...Your Brother...I'd sure not be giving him any java and bacon on Christmas morning :)

I'm pretty sure I would make a great french maid!!!! oh wait perhaps not.. well I would at least give it a try it's all for charity isn't it? lol

Hi Kathy...actually it was the idea of one of the couples who bought it (they chipped in) he is one of our Board members and thought it was hilarious!

Joe...Nope I draw the line at short ruffled black dresses with seamed tights and plunging decolletage...but I am considering one of those t-shirts with a bikini body on it!

Joan -- I am laughing -- good for you -- I think the t-shirt would be a hoot. Maybe we should both come into the first PPC meeting with one of those t-shirts! It sounds like the fund raising was a great success!

Sally...yes it really did go very well...it was so much fun. Is there anyplace maids wear long black pants?

Joan...maybe we should go to the retreat dressed like that! No....I guess not! I don't know about the money...but the event was successful!

Joan-you cracked me up with the French Maid, no way! I would have to pass as well. The fact that this was charity related is wonderful. It looks like you had the joy of a wonderful evening.

Congratulations on your successful fund raiser. French maid? Funny, no doubt a man had the idea for that! I think your idea about the t-shirt is a winner, go for it.

Joan, I'm glad the event went so well but think of the photo opportunities of dressing up as a French Maid and coming back to share all those pictures on AR :)! You could be famous!! Funny post and I'm sure dinner will be wonderful.

Oh my gosh- YOU GET TO EAT THE LEFTOVERS! I'd bring some plastic bags- that food is going to be amazing. French maid? GO FOR IT- could spice up the holidays at home, too. LIVE A LITTLE (saysthepersonthatwouldn'tbecaughtdeadwiththatoutfiton)...

Wow, Joan! I'm off the board for a day or two and I return to learn you are entertaining a career change? Are you sure a French maid is a step up? LOL But, in all fairness, the benefits might be a little better... ;)

Hey Joan -- I know it has been a slow year -- maybe we could raise some money if we wore the french maid costumes to the retreat and served everyone lunch I am sure the tips would be GREAT~ LOL -- I would love to see Jeff's reaction!
