I know there have been numerous blogs in the past about poor photos on the MLS. I have seen my fair share of sideways staircases, toilets, and pictures that just leave me scratching my head. I hit the motherload of bad photos this past week.
As I was screening homes for my buyers on Friday, I came across a listing that left me wondering: Of the 9 photos that were on the MLS, two had the homeowners included in the pictures. Click here to see them. The only good photo was of the exterior. I am guessing the MLS photographer took that one (we can get one exterior photo taken for free out here).
My favorite was of the homeowners packing in their garage. I guess the listing agent was trying to create a sense of urgency in selling the house by showing us the homeowner packing up their garage??
Maybe it's just me, but I ask my clients to hold me accountable. They get a timeline of what is due when, when they are going to be advertised, a copy of the proof of the ad, and yes a copy of the MLS listing. We all make mistakes, and I have made data entry errors that my sellers have caught for me.
I am not sure exactly what the agent thinks he is selling here, the trampoline? Needless to say my buyers did not want to see the house. With so much inventory, this listing had no draw for them. And yes, we did find a house they liked and are writing an offer on it. Homeowners, not included.
