Yes 2007 is winding down. It certainly has been an eventful year. Not all the events were good ! At this time as things slow a bit and I go out to split wood  I use this time to think about business. There are 2 things I think about. 1. 2007 and 2. 2008

For 2007 I think about what worked and what didn't. How did I track my year? Was I able to make corrections in my plans? How did the services I bought pan out? For me starting All Mountain Realty was the big event in the year.

For 2008 I am now planning ahead. What am I going to do and equally important is, how am I going track what I do? Tracking is the key. You can have a great plan but if you cannot see where you are in the plan you can go astray and not be able to correct yourself.

I am not a big systems person so everybody has their own thing. All I can say is if you do not have a plan, a way to track your progress as it relates to the plan, and an open mind to correct "the ships course" then you will be in for a rough time in 2008.

Hope all have a great Thanksgiving

Good points Charlie. I think we all need at the very least a tracking system (could be an excell spreadsheet) and some goals for the year.

Charlie - This is also the time when I am reflecting on how I did, what adjustment will be necessary, as well as new processes that I want to implement to improve my business in 2008.  Here is hoping we will have a great 2008.

Hi Charlie - I'm fairly new in RE and I've been thinking/planning on getting something (maybe Top Producer) to help me with my tracking and follow-up.  I've heard from many that it's great and necessary to stay on top of your game.
