Thank goodness. Don't get me wrong; I am on the writers' side. However the time spent listening to poorly delivered material by people is why the shows go on too long. The one joke Kimmel the mc delivered was his own and in bad taste. Oh well, he laughed at it.
The event made me see how clearly improved it is to just let people introduce the guest. Some revealed more of the message they felt and we in turn caught on to their true identity over the hype.
It has to be hard for the writers with so many unscripted shows. "Times are changing" and the American Idol was the rocket fuel that seemed to lead the charge. For awards the opportunity for self-expression was a bonus.
The academy award show should take a serious look. I read the writers have the people. Good, I read it will hurt the writers for it to be prologues because the people run out of interest in things. The BIG TV and Film industry is always cutting out anything they can. Some of the very best written movies I have seen have taken a serious stab at the hierarchy in the industry and the moneymen with snobbish disdain for everyone.
The story. Told or retold, written or filmed will always be safe in the hearts of humanity.
