Interest rates are at a record low in Canada right now which makes it very attractive for home buyers and of course, home sellers. Sellers need to move quickly in getting their home ready for selling. Dana J. Smithers was interviewed on television and used many 'Before & After' photos to talk about her major tips. Before your home seller start the actual staging you will want to make a plan and one of the best ways to do this is to hire a PRES home stager for a consultation. Then you can start to DECLUTTER, DEPERSONALIZE & CLEAN.
Here are some HOME STAGING TIPS from the show to share with your sellers. Remember 'LESS IS MORE':
1. Paint the home in NEUTRAL COLOURS (use accessories, bedding, art in bright, trendy colours with spring around the corner)
2. VACANT HOMES do not sell as quickly nor for as much money as homes with furniture (updated, modern) do. Rent or borrow furniture if you need to - it will be a good ROI in the end.
3. Find a FOCAL POINT in each room and make it one of your most attractive features
4.Create the room with the FUNCTION in mind. You may have been using a dining room as an office but now it's time to change it back to a dining room.
