KW Cares Board Designates Portion of Annual Tithe for Cancer Research

Did you know that this year more than 50 percent of KW Cares grants were related to associates and their families battling cancer? That's why, at a recent meeting of the KW Cares Board of Directors, the members voted that a portion of the annual tithe will be granted to three nationally respected cancer research centers.

The tithe will be divided evenly among the research centers, which are:

Tithe? That word caught my attention. We always tithe 10% of our income to our church. You know, the biblical thing. So I'm reading your post and trying to determine how you're describing it. I've never heard the word used outside of church. (Most people don't even know what it means.) Does KW have a policy of tithing? And is it to something or someone other than their home church?

Lisa...thanks for your comment.  Keller Williams does not have a tithing policy, but the company strongly encourages the agents to give back at least 10% to charities of their own choosing.  The use of the word 'tithing' is symbolic of the the company's philosophy that our agents should prioritize God,
Family then Business.  Of course, their are many different religious beliefs that make up our company, so when we speak of 'God', we are deferring to each person's personal religious beliefs.
