Turkey Jim's Covered Bridge

The Turkey Jim's covered bridge in Campton, New Hampshire, is located off NH Route 49 on Old Stephans Road.  Original bridge was built in 1883 and it was re-constructed in 1958 at an estimated cost of $3,700 and is 60.5' long after being pushed off it's foundation in a flood.

This bridge was located on private property.  It was in the Branch Brook Campground, which was once Turkey Jim's Turkey Farm. It is very sad the bridge once again was swept off it's foundation last summer due to the New England flooding.

Turkey Jim's Covered Bridge had a Mascot!

I hope after evaluation the bridge will be re-built!

Hi Keith,

Looks like the "Ol boy" might need a little more work on it.

I love those shots of days gone by. Not that many of these old bridges left to see any more,

Looks like the chipmunk loves the place. LOL

Have a good day and weekend ahead my friend.

Best, Clint McKie

Hi Keith,

Thanks for some great pictures of the old bridge. I was expecting to see turkeys sitting on the bridge when I clicked on it. I wonder if there are wild turkeys hanging around still after Jim moved on? I like the little chipmunk looking up at you. I hope someone decides to repair this lovely relic.
