I thought these flare ups were only going to last a few days. I read the article and this is scary. To think we could be without technology for any amount of time. I guess I would be forced to finally take some time off. My family ought to be very afraid.
Marte, thanks for the follow up, I live in Seattle where the sun doesn't shine again until May so I know my computer mishap just was just a computer related snafu, that's about as technical as I can get at the end of the day.
As if we needed anything else to worry about! I can't do anything about this so I won't fret. I'll just keep my earthquake supplies up to date.
There was a solar storm last week, and they said it may affect our navigators, so maybe this has something to do with it??? I think next time I have a technical challenge, I'll blame the solar system (just kidding, I have no one to blame but me!!).
Sounds like a good drinking game...oh wait maybe not. Hadn't noticed any problems recently but maybe I'm just lucky.

Well, whatever happens won't hurt for long, the Mayan calendar ends 12/21/2012. Meanwhile, I will continue to fiddlle while sunspots flare.
