Crossville's Obed River Park knows me well, As I visit at least once a week. Winding paved trails make their way through the lush Tennessee hard woods, smoothly rolling up and down small hills, passing through natural fields, peeping around caves and rock formations, running along the rippling obed river as if they are in a race and swirling around beautiful Tennessee cedars.       Obed River Park is perfect for a relaxing walk with nature. Go for a jog, bring your bike or roller blades and bring your dog/dogs. "just remember to keep them on a leash" . Their are several pavilions so bring your lunch or picnic or grill out on a weekend afternoon. The park also offers a baseball field, play ground and public restrooms.

Several native trees have been identified with signs. The park is also filled with blue bird, owl and duck boxes. On my visits I have spotted pileated woodpeckers, great horned owl, chipmunks and several species of birds.

During the summer enjoy the butterfly garden along the main path trail.

Thanks to Herb White who proposed and then headed up this ongoing project which also involves the Crossville Tree board. We have a beautiful piece of nature to call our own right here in Crossville.

Very nice.  We have a ton of 'green space' but most of it is undeveloped, which is nice, but this is beautiful.  Thanks for sharing!

Christina - What a beautiful park with a wonderful variety of natural features AND the convenient path. I'll have to get to Tennessee on one of our journeys.

I love the walking paths. More parks should have good walking paths.
