Maybe it is me,maybe not, but what is up with Monday night football? Earlier this year, it was Atlanta and there were hardly anyone in the stands. Ok, lets look at these games. It is probably me, and remember, this is just my opinions below, but I am not into watching someone get their butts kicked up and down the field. I like a competative game. With that said, I hope not to offend anyone as it is my OPINION.

Schedule

Wk 1: Ravens 20, Bengals 27 - Great game here and 2 decent teams.

Wk 1: Cardinals 17, 49ers 20  - This was another close one.

Wk 2: Redskins 20, Eagles 12 - Very good game here and people come out to see both teams.

Wk 3: Titans 31, Saints 14 - Titans are an up and down team and this is not the saints year.

Wk 4: Patriots 34, Bengals 13 - This was a waste of great television time.

Wk 5: Cowboys 25, Bills 24  - Great game. If it was not for the second half, the Cowboys would be crying.

Wk 6: Giants 31, Falcons 10 - The stadium was half empty. Need I say more.

Wk 7: Colts 29, Jaguars 7 - Please, give me the Pats, maybe the Steelers, and the Chargers, and maybe we have a game worth seeing.

Wk 8: Packers 19, Broncos 13  - Packers are going for it this year and 2 decent teams. Was a great game.

Wk 9: Ravens 7, Steelers 38 - What??? Did someone bump their head here?

Wk 10:49ers 0, Seahawks 24 - This game should have been a better match-up than what it was. SF did not deliver on their end.

Wk  11: Titans @ Broncos   11/19 8:30 PM - Should be a decent game, But young has yet to impress me.

Wk 12: Dolphins @ Steelers   11/26 8:30 PM - What?!? Did Hell freeze over?

Wk 13: Patriots @ Ravens   12/3 8:30 PM - Please, again? Pats 56 - Ravens 3

Wk 14: Saints @ Falcons   12/10 8:30 PM - OK, this might be a good battle for the cellar. Should be worth watching because it will not be a blow out.

Wk 15: Bears @ Vikings   12/17 8:30 PM - Maybe, if Peterson is still out.

Wk 16: Broncos @ Chargers   12/24 8:00 PM - Should be worth the dime.

Sorry Danny, but it doesn't get any better...week 10 Seahawks and 49rs...the 49rs were picked to walk away with the division at the beginning of the season....shows you what the experts know..hehehe

11/19/2007 05:03 PM by Chuck "Loans made easy" Christensen

Dan - I agree. I would love to watch something tonight with at least a little bit of drama.

11/19/2007 05:05 PM by Bill Gassett Metrowest Massachusetts Real Estate (RE/MAX Executive Realty)

I'll tell ya what, I'll log on while I'm screaming at my Bronco defense and giving advice that they usually don't listen to, maybe that will be enough drama??? hehe  Of course, I have an eye doctor appt. just before the game so I may be seeing my very own version of the game.

11/19/2007 05:10 PM by Diana Walkosak (Assistant Per Project)

Chuck, I want some of what those guys were smoking cause it had to be real good. When is the last time Gore found the enzone? Do they need to draw him a map?

Bill, I could not agree more.

11/19/2007 05:10 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

I will be watcing Heros, they only have one cheerleader but she is pretty much indestructable...maybe some of the "pro" teams should look into that...LOL

11/19/2007 05:25 PM by Rich Dansereau Loan Officer Knoxville TN (Home America Mortgage)

Danny...call Ricky Williams...I am sure he could hook you up to along with the Dolphins....that would be a good game...the 49rs and Dolphins....let them p;lay 8 quarters and see if anyone can score....?

11/19/2007 05:32 PM by Chuck "Loans made easy" Christensen

Danny.... my opinion?   I think it coincides with the cast of Monday night football. I will admit, it's much improved over the cast from last year with Theisman. I thought he was one of the worst ever on TV....  look at Sunday night this year, they seem to get some of the better match ups than Monday night does.  Hhhhhmmmm  something to ponder about?

Rich, good point. And maybe they could use Peter.

Chuck, they think that eight quaters is equal to a dollar.

Jeff, that is a great point. Never thought about it.

11/19/2007 06:37 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

I'll be watching Heroes. After the Pats shellacking of the Bills last night I wonder if anyone will be able to beat this team. I agree that Young hasn't shown much yet but he is young. I am not impressed with any of the announcers on Monday night.

11/19/2007 07:05 PM by Jay McGillicuddy~Real Estate Broker (Prudential Verani Realty)

Very true.  Not like the old days of MNF.  Maybe next year.

11/19/2007 08:54 PM by PHILIP TURNER-MORTGAGE BANKER SINCE 1980 (MCCUE MORTGAGE COMPANY)

The best game this yr was cowboys v bills.  I don't know about you but my cable company will show the same commercials every break and mnf has way too many commercials to begin with.  I do like the earlier start time though.

11/19/2007 09:20 PM by Keith Neeley, RE/MAX New Horizons (ReMax New Horizons)

Jay, Miami CSI

Philip, you are right about that.

Keith, it is DTV for me, can't stand the cable companies.

11/19/2007 10:10 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

Danny - Tony Kornheiser happened. Not only does he suck the life out the show, he has the ability to suck the life out of the game.

11/19/2007 10:49 PM by Ryan Martin - Bellingham Real Estate Agent (Windermere Real Estate / Whatcom Inc.)

I agree with Ryan -- the Kornheiser is a tough listen. And then with hawking the celebrities. The Packers' game was a classic, though.

11/20/2007 01:15 AM by Andrew J. Lenza (ABR*GRI*MBA) Monmouth County NJ Real Estate Broker (Andrew J. Lenza Realty)

Danny,I like your week 13 prediction...LOL Will anyone other than fans of these teams in the remaining games even watch?

11/20/2007 04:59 AM by BLRGUY(Beach & Luxury Realty Inc)

Do you really think that the Pats will take it easy on the Ravens?  Why such a low score?

Go Pats!

11/20/2007 06:32 AM by Martin Abeshaus (ZIPVO)

Ryan, I agree.

Andrew, I could not agree more. Need new commentators.

Rick, you are accurate in that statement.

Martin, I was giving the Ravens SOME credit

11/20/2007 06:58 AM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

Ha Ha! We Won We Won We WON!!! woo hoo!  hehe

The cool thing about the West Coast...Heroes is on after the game. I watched both. *cheesy grin*

I agree with the commentators but I'm sooooo glad John Madden isn't talking.  My nickname for him: John Maddening.  I don't know how many times I yelled at him through the tv to shut up.

11/20/2007 11:59 AM by Diana Walkosak (Assistant Per Project)

Diana, i do that to most commentators, but what is worse is I commentate the game and then they say exactly what I said.

11/20/2007 12:12 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

Well, how else do you think they know what to say?

11/20/2007 12:25 PM by Diana Walkosak (Assistant Per Project)

Danny, you need to get a lawyer and get in those contract negotiations....I am so sick and tired of hearing about those has beens...I remembered when they were all playing (especially Theisman) and they forgot how good they weren't!

11/20/2007 04:55 PM by Chuck "Loans made easy" Christensen

Diana, I never knew they had a hidden mic here.

Chuck, I feel your pain.

11/20/2007 05:56 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

I hate when there are choices to make- tickets on a Pirates of the Bay cruise or watch the Patriots destroy the Bills? Hmmm, been there, watched that. Took the cruise!lol!!

11/20/2007 07:31 PM by Debbie Malone, RE/MAX, Lynchburg, Smith Mountain Lake, Real Estate Agent (RE/MAX 1st Olympic, ABR, e-PRO, ASP)

You cant really blame the network and the NFL who schedule these games almost a year in advance. Before the season even began some of these match-ups were pretty intriguing. The Sunday night match-ups have been superior but thats just NBC getting lucky. The Broncos have had alot of air play for an underachieving 5-5 team.

11/20/2007 08:49 PM by Eddy Martinez (Nationwide Funding Group)

I agree...I almost don't watch Monday Night football anymore. Weeks 12 and 14 look to be stinkers! I like your prediction for week 13 :) That will be one game that's on in our house! Other than that, I'll stick to the Sunday games.

11/20/2007 10:23 PM by Cris Burlew, Broker ~ St Pete Beach FL Real Estate (Beach & Luxury Realty, Inc.)

Debbie, I am in for the cruise.

Eddy, it is my complaint and I am sticking to it.

Cris, I will not be visiting that night.

11/21/2007 12:02 AM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

They make up the schedule before the season and with this last game I bet they didn't know that Michael Vick wouldn't be playing this year!  I mean there have been so many twists and turns this year with injuries and scandals!  Look at the Ravens!  We were supposed to be SUPER BOWL contenders this year, SERIOUSLY!

11/21/2007 07:06 PM by Michael Klijanowicz - Relocation Specialist - Baltimore & Harford County (Baltimore & Harford County Maryland - Long and Foster )

Michael, I hear ya. I do not believe that there is an easy answer to this.

11/21/2007 11:15 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

What can ya do, Danny? Do you suggest that the NFL also make monday night games "flex" games to get better matchups?

11/23/2007 12:20 PM by Jim Ludes Grundy/Will County, IL REALTOR (Century 21 Coleman-Hornsby)

Jim - I am guessing that you are being sarcastic because that is asking way too much for teams.

11/23/2007 02:19 PM by Ryan Martin - Bellingham Real Estate Agent (Windermere Real Estate / Whatcom Inc.)

Ryan- the schedule is what it is....set months before the season starts....it has always given several crappy matchups per season, particularily late in the season- it's nothing new. Until they flex that too- you're not always going to see a "great" game. I like how Danny's week 4 and 9 losers are wastes of time, but when they played each other in week one they were two decent teams. :)

Maybe Nostradamus could be contacted to make the schedule then!

11/24/2007 12:49 AM by Jim Ludes Grundy/Will County, IL REALTOR (Century 21 Coleman-Hornsby)

Danny, I agree with you.  Some of those games didn't deserve to be on national TV.  I just hope my Steelers don't look bad this Monday night!

11/24/2007 01:19 AM by Roberta LaRocca - REALTORĀ® Las Vegas (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace)

NFL also make monday night games "flex" games to get better matchups? Thos works for me.

11/24/2007 02:57 PM by David Hood- Realtor Chino Valley (Keller Williams Realty)

Jim, I think we all know that it is what it is. It is not possible to change Monday's to Flex games, however, it is possible to put out 2 games on Monday Night. Then hopefully, you can have at least 1 worth watching.

11/25/2007 10:48 AM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

Roberta, it is sad when Heros is more watched than Monday Night Football.

David, it would never happen. However, something needs to change.

11/25/2007 10:50 AM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

hey, Heroes is good!  Besides I can watch both. :)

That game sooooo sucked last night.   Did you see that kick?  The ball stuck right in the ground, didn't even bounce.

11/27/2007 05:50 PM by Diana Walkosak (Assistant Per Project)

Last nights game was pretty horrible but that was because of the nasty weather. If the Dolphins don't beat the Jets this Sunday then they will run the tables in reverse, amazing!!!!!!!!!

How about Cam Cameron ?

Eddy

11/27/2007 07:02 PM by Eddy Martinez (Nationwide Funding Group)

Eddy, the weather only contributed to the awful playing surface. They sodded over the old field. What a joke. I'll bet they will go the route that the NE Patriots did and put in the new turf.

11/27/2007 07:14 PM by Jay McGillicuddy~Real Estate Broker (Prudential Verani Realty)

Diana, I don't think "sucked" describes it well enough.

Eddy, I don't think that they can bet the Wets, I mean the jets.

Jay, I have to agree. Wet or not, that game was pathetic.
