Hi All! I've been hearing a lot about people who are actually going into their farm areas and knocking on doors and having tons of success. Is there anyone here that can say the same? What are your opinons?

HHHHmm,no idea here, but I noticed you are from Mt. Wasington. I use to live in Fern Creek up till 4 years ago. Had a home in Glenmary. How are things in Kentucky these days?

I've been going out every Thursday for about a month. I go with an insurance agent and a woman who does custom window coverings. So far they have both picked up business, I'm still waiting and hoping.

Never have knocked on a door and REALLY admire those who do, I think it's couragous and well worth the try but that's just something we're not comfortable with. However, our farm has hired us to list their homes becuase we've invested in a powerful (quarterly) newsletter that people actually say they keep. It's been a huge success for us.

No door knocking here.  Not only are driveways quite long in our neighborhood but I feel that it's quite bothersome to the owner.  I hate when people come to my door and try to sell me something.

David:  I find that knocking on doors is very old school.  The do not call list will not let you call either.  Direct mail, email when you have the address works well.  In my farming area, we have a pumpkin decorating contest each year, monthly mailings, e-newsletters, and calandars at Christmas.  I have now sold 13 homes in this neighborhood, and have three currently for sale.  So it does work.  I have lots of open houses there all the time, where I get to meet the neighbors.  WHen I know them, I can get their email and information as well.
