That What Don't Kill Ya , Makes You Stronger!

If you struggle with blogging consistently, or finding topics worthy of your blogging efforts and your readers' time, sign up for a Blogging Challenge. Committing to a Challenge gets you committed to change. To improve, you have to change. Change is usually somewhat uncomfortable. Learn to be comfortable with it. Be comfortable being uncomfortable!

I used to struggle with blogging consistently. I started and dropped several other challenges before signing up for the 2011 December 31 day posting challenge. The lure of doing something daily to improve my business gave me something I needed to do, and something to write about. I made it part of my schedule, and with a great deal of effort, I made it. (OK, so it wasn't really that hard!) The lavish praise from many others on AR (and the points) were great. The challenge gave me new habits of planning ahead and writing daily. As it ended, I realized that I didn't want to slip back into being just a commenter.

So I signed up again for the 2012 BIG Jumpstart Blog Challenge.  As I looked it over, I noticed with distaste that I didn't know a lot about a lot of the topics. There wasn't much freedom on what to post, yet I know I needed to expand my range of topics that I blog about, so I jumped in. The Challenge gave me a requirement to write daily, and to vary my subject matter.Wisconsin Snow

I'd like to say it was a walk in the park, but that's BS. (Big Snowjob) >------>------>------>--->------>---->

This post is starting to sound a little like a Facebook status, so I'll wrap up by suggesting that if you see a Challenge posted here, give some thought to signing up. Both Challenges were well worth it!

MANY Thanks to Deborah Byron Leffler for the 2011 December 31 blog challenge, and MANY Thanks to Lynn B. Friedman for the 2012 BIG Jumpstart Challenge!!

P.S. Going to do a localism post 5 days a week for the next 4 weeks - Sort of my own little spring challenge! Check in on me and bust me if I don't keep up! I am developing another secret formula just for this "challenge". You can find the New Formula on tomorrow's post.

It is challenging to ad a new routine, isn't it?  And a blog can seem like an indulgence of time when there are so many other tasks beckoning.  Good for you for meeting the challenge!

Fred, I am so happy for you....You have come such a long way.  Good for you for finishing and good for you for starting your own new challenge.  I loved the Big Snowjob so much.  It was the best challenge I have ever done!

Congratulations!
