Motivational Power Quote

Know Your Destination

“If one does not know to which port one is sailing,

no wind is favorable.”

Seneca, 4 BC - 65 AD, Roman Philosopher, Statesman

As I see it . . . . . . .

Know your destination

Without a clearly defined destination we have no path to follow and there is no path that will get to where we want to go.

When we lack a clear destination we lack a purpose and we will find ourselves drifting through our days and squander our years.

Your destination is your goals. By defining your goals you define your destination and you set your course to reach that destination.

When we know our destination we make far better use of our time and resources. We will create a more direct route from today to our objective by finding our self staying on course with far less drifting.

Know your destination before your start and you will start your journey with a purpose.

Lou, Seneca clearing had it figured out centuries ago! Many buyers today would benefit with this wisdom. Without a destination, there is no where to go! Now, I'm thinking about the superbowl again and how millions will be watching two teams compete for the goal.

Without goals, there is no reason to work for them.  Work becomes a task, and, in any event...meaningless!

Yes. I find that even non-plans turn into plans after a while. :)

Thank you for sharing the post with us.

Irene hits this one on the head. Certainly, knowing and understanding the destination is so important with all we do, but never lose sight of the journey. We always need to appreciate the journey.

If you do not have a destination port, any port will do! Best that you choose! Enjoy your day!

Lou,

So true with such excellent words. So many different takes and ways to say this, but none the less, solid truth to what is said. A great value to instill in our children, especially in this day and age.

Of course, it all makes perfect sense but, sometimes, there are so many twists and turns in my path, I get lost and lose track of where I was headed. I need to remind myself.
