I got 2 calls to show my listings to other agents and clients during the Super Bowl and then to top it off I got a call for a listing appointment at 2PM - one hour before the game starts. I told them all I have other appointments.
Now I understand some people are not interested in football, but how about consideration for the rest of us. I do love football and Super Bowl Sunday is a holiday to me. I like seeing my friends, sharing good times, good food, good cheer. It is good for my business as I get to see many people who I seldom see and rebuild my real estate connection. Most of all, I get to disconnect from real estate for a few hours and enjoy myself, my husband, and our love of football.
Count me out for showing homes and doing lisiting appointments within 3 hours of the Super Bowl. For now, I am off to the office for 2 hours with clients. Then I am on holiday!

If it was a couple hours before the game and they were VACANT homes I might. I tend to take Sunday off anyway.
I would show the homes if I did not have plans for Super Bowl. No way if you are a Giants or Pats fan though.
Even though I'm not much of a football fan, I will stop down today and watch the Super Bowl as I do every year. It is an American institution. Good for you Lori that you have your priorities straight. We are not 7-11 and open 24 hours a day...right?
Lori-I would gladly start my day early as possible to accommodate clients on Super Bowl Sunday, but jut before the game I'm gone! Enjoy.
I only meet with clients by apppointment, at times to suit me, so if I want a day off, I take it. As for the Super Bowl - being from England I could care less! I wouldn't understand it if I watched it - I'll stick with rugby and cricket.
Hi Lori, I would show homes but only if they are vacant and I'm not interrupting somebody else's Superbowl-party.. that would be a no-no. As a German all your rules apply to me when it's time for the Soccer World Cup - that is my kind of super bowl.
I'm with you - today IS a holiday! I wish my home team was playing but I'm still looking forward to the game, the ads and the junk food!
We always take one day a week for ourselves and it's usually Sunday. We have got to have boundries to be healthy full adjusted and productive people. Hope you had fun... it was a great game.
