Password Affirmation Magic

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Coastal Realty

We all have a bunch of passwords in our life. More passwords than the normal brain can remember. You know the most common one - your pet's name. Easy to remember is key when creating a password. But how about making your password a positive affirmation as well? Instead of Fluffy42 think about trying 6Million or Money100 or ListingQueen or RealEstateRules or RERewards?! I bet you can come up with a ton. Think about how many times a day you put in your password just to sign on to AR now multiply that by a positive affirmation and BAM you are programming good stuff into your subconscious all the time with little effort.

I have been working with this for about 6 months now and have found it to work for me. Do you have a positive password to share?

I had read this yesterday and then my friend called and gave me her password to something and it was along these lines and I had to laugh. Maybe it does help.

Shannon - I read this post last year right after you wrote it. I loved the idea and started to use the technique immediately. It's been wonderful! As Jennifer mentions above, it makes me smile to use positive passwords. AND, I find it's much easier to remember these passwords than my old stand-by's.

THANKS for a GREAT tip!

I LOVE it! I am trying to change all of my passwords to the same password so I don't forget them and I think I will try this little trick too!

I've often used words like "BUY" or "SEL" or "WOW" on my lockbox combos. But, it never occurred to me to use these positive affirmations in my own passwords. What a great suggestion, and so easy to remind yourself of some goals. I love it -- thanks!

Shannon, what a different way to look at your password, might not want to use Broke, BROKer, or somthing along that line.

Shannon, Great idea.  Password combinations can be so confusing at times.  I usually use the same one all the time.  Makes it easier for me.

I'm not sure I would call this a positive one, but in my old job, my passwords definitely delivered me a message. I was bound to the job by a paycheck and knew I needed to get out to be happy, so I changed all my passwords to Quit or QuitNow. Eventfully I took my not-so-subtle hint ~ and found my happy place in Real Estate.

I have been really loving working with this idea. It has certainly made it easier to sign on to the zillions of web sites. Has been a bit of work but well worth it.
