OK, so I am shooting from the hip here but Susan Milner tagged me so I guess I have to write something about 5 things that people may not know about me.
1) I have been in an informercial. It sometimes still runs late at night in certain areas of the country. This was about 6 years ago and I was making money on Ebay and they included me on their interview.
2) I am a public speaker now and really enjoy it, however, I used to be terrified of it. When I had to give a project update in front of as little as 5 people, my heart would beat fast, I would stutter, my hands would get sweaty, I was a wreck! I knew this would hold me back in life so I went to college and the first semester I signed up for every speaking class they had that made me get in front of the crowd.
3) I read my first book on real estate in April of 2004. One year later, I left my 80k a year job as a database administrator for an insurance company and went fulltime as an investor.
4) I recently took a course called Photoreading which is like speed reading on steroids. Since then, I preview and go through 2-3 books a day and complete at least one book a day. All of this in less than an hour a day.
5) I am a fomer computer geek. I pushed the button on my first mouse in 1998 and the next month I was working at Sony in their PC section. I then went onto several different jobs, my favorite was I built a business intelligence suite of products for Collier County government that greatly reduced the number of man hours required for end of month reporting. Using OLAP cubes and BI products, one secretary went from the last two full business days to run her end of month reporting to under 2 minutes! That stuff was fun back then, now working for myself is funner! (is that a word?)
