37 Comments on So maybe I had already found my blogging voice.........................
Roger, I think that has happened to all of us when we start out...and still today depending on the topic...market reports, although necessary, don't usually get much reading, etc.
It's tough when you are just starting out and don't get any feedback in the form of comments.
You just needed to be found my friend! Great job seeing how your "voice" is now being heard compared to when you first posted those blogs.
More than likely, Ella Fitzgerald didn't wake up one morning and decide she was going to try singing. She knew she had that marvelous "instrument" of a voice, but who heard it until she started singing in clubs, on the radio and making guest appearances on television shows? Probably not too many people other than family, friends and an occasional choir director.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing myself to one of the all time "greats" of jazz, but there is a bit of a similarity here. I kicked some butt in school writing reports and speeches. Later in life I wrote policies and procedures and employee manuals. But who knew what I had to say? Teachers, employers, family and a few people who "payed attention" to who actually wrote this stuff. So until I was given a platform where I could blog and be heard, no one heard my voice or opinion on much.
Which brings me to today's post. ActiveRain gave me a chance to write about some of the things I actually knew a little something about. It also gave me the opportunity to just write about "stuff" that I thought other folks might be interested in reading. But at the beginning, who knew Roger Mucci and why would they read my "stuff"..............................
The thing I found most interesting was the fact that when I went back and looked at some of my earlier posts, I was sure I was going to be horrified at what I had written and have tons of "editing" to do before I could re-post them, but that wasn't the case, so that was the reason for the little experiment. I wanted to see that if now, after I have made all of these wonderful friends and people were actually reading my "stuff" if they would be received any differently, and they were.
All of that to say, thank you my friends, for taking an interest in what I have to say and for hearing my "voice". I am truly grateful for all of you and the wonderful comments and compliments you left on my post today, and those that you leave every day.
Did you just call me a Fremontodendron? Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls

Why? Because of you my friends, thanks again!
Roger ~ I'm not sure when I stumbled across your blog, but it was certainly awhile ago. I loved what you wrote and subscribed. And I'm still hooked on what you have to say!
BARFF- I agree with Craig... your voice was already there... we just needed to find you... and I'm so glad I did.
Roger, I think that it is ... you had your voice but no one was listening. It takes time to build relationships and create loyal followers and those who comment faithfully. You've created that through your connections and your voice. Well done!
I know it took me quite some time to find my voice and my comfort zone. I just didn't understand what I was doing. You are lucky. You're just a natural! :-)
Roger, Your writing is warm, witty, and hits parts of everyone's common experience. You are a major asset to the Rain and a nice change from visiting the perpetually uptight :-)
Roger, From day one, your blog is a must-read! Couldn't imagine my almost daily AT life without you my friend. Glad you jumped into the blogging pool with the rest of us!
Roger, I did catch most of these last week, and never would have thought they weren't your true voice.
I've been thinking to do the same.....I've been so busy lately and may have lost my real voice!
Now I know for a sure I have come a long way from my beginnings last Aug and for sure my evolution is still progressing daily.
Roger, it takes a lot of practice and hard work to refine your voice and earn your audience. Look how many fans do you have today! Respectfully yours...
I am so glad that you were not discouraged and plugged on. LOOK AT YOU NOW! (And imagine all that we would have missed!) x♥x♥
Hi Roger--I can't believe they were all recycled posts. Now that explains it. I definitely think you have found your voice. I love that blogging and AR makes that possible for all of us. And now--look who's listening (reading).
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful compliments. It's truly a pleasure seeing all of you visit my blog. I am honored and humbled to have made so many wonderful friends on ActiveRain.
Gret job Roger! Recycling is not a bad thing!
Roger~Well it's safe to say that you've definitely found your "voice," but I would also add that people have found that you're a great guy.
Have an AWESOME day!
sometimes it just takes a while to clear your throat....and develop a following...enjoy your week !
You're one of the popular kids now Roger....and that's a good thing!
