Even Madonna?

Yes, even Madonna. If you watched the Super Bowl halftime program last night, you may have seen Madonna stumble during her performance. It wasn't much. It was just a second of unsure footing, but it was there. This icon of pop music, a true professional entertainer, stumbled. And you know what? She kept right on going and I'll bet most people didn't even notice!

The lesson here, and yes, there is always a lesson, is that no matter how good we get at something, no matter how professional we are, there always comes a moment when we can stumble. The lesson, as my piano teacher in 8th grade used to tell me is, don't stop. Keep going and make the rest of your performance as perfect as you can. Most people will never notice the one flub.

No one is perfect. We all make mistakes, both small and large. The key is to keep moving. The other key is to let others who make mistakes keep moving as well.

I really like it when I wonder what to blog about and the ideas just seem to come from everywhere. Have a great day, don't make any mistakes today, but if you do, just keep moving!

Very true. We all make mistakes - some noticeable to only us and some to many. That is life. We go forward.

We did see the stumble and she quickly recovered and moved on and finished strong!

Peter, my piano teacher gave me the same advice before my first recital.  I was in 2nd grade, very shy and very terrified about that first performance!  Great advice.

Great advice.   Just keep on going!   (Of course, wearing 6" heels makes it a little harder!  I don't know how she does it at all!)

Good morning Peter. I agree totally agree with your premise, but I don't remember the stumble which I guess proves your point.

Peter... to err (or stumble) occasionally is what makes us human!  Hope you'll have a great week!

I have a saying on my wall. "When you slip, make it part of the dance". Yes, I noticed, but like the great proformer that she is, she moved on. We should all learn this simple, but powerful lesson.
