All Aboard - Austin Texas Train Service
Capital MetroRail offers weekday passenger rail service between Leander and downtown Austin.
Passengers wanting to use the rail service on the weekends have only one choice....THEY CAN'T! This Thursday, Feb. 9, Austin's City Council is set to vote on whether to extend the rail service for weekend use.
This would be AWESOME for those who wish to have the option of riding the train for a social outing. Can you imagine riding the train, having dinner and drinks, catching some live music and drinks then heading home AFTER DRINKS and not having to worry?? What a comfortable way to enjoy an evening out!
Let the Austin City Council know you would like this type of service. If you would like more information, go to www.allianceforpublictransportation.org.
Favorite things to do while riding the train: catch up on your reading, surf the web with free, on board Wi-Fi, gaze out the windows for views of rolling green hills, whiz past traffic standing still and taking a nap until you get to your destination.
Fares are reasonable:
Single One-Way Fare: One Zone ($1.00) All Zones ($2.75)
