Glancing down at my subscriber list the other day I realized I had over 90 people here on Activerain that I subscribe to.  And when you think about it, it's really NOTHING compared to the amount of wonderful people on this site who's posts I am missing out on.  Still, there are only so many hours in a day.  Thinking  back to when I first signed on and the hundreds and hundreds of posts I've read, there are some that will always "stay with me."  Some were just plain funny, some taught me things I never knew, some shared such beautiful and personal information I felt a kinship with yet another wonderful activerainer.  Some inspired me, gave me insights, different perspectives.

I decided to try to choose just one post from each person who, knowingly or not has had a profound impact on me with one of their writings.  This was easier said then done; there are so many people with so many wonderful posts I realized the difficulty of what I was undertaking.  I also realized that I would somehow unintentionally leave out some very wonderful people, it would be inevitable.  And it couldn't be done in one post.  Here's the first of a few posts on the people and posts of Activerain that have touched me in a very personal way.  In case you missed ANY of them, I found them to be some of the BEST.

Jeff Belonger and several others speak of link love. He is also, incidentally, one of the first people who somehow found one of my posts way back when and commented.  Jeff has taught me much about the mortgage business and while I have a long way to go I find the information he shares amazing.  While looking through all his posts I realized it was a recent one that I just loved; I suggested it for a Feature but sadly, it didn't make it.  It made me laugh and if you didn't take the test, you didn't get the most out of it.  For a good laugh (and just maybe a few truths) try:  Step up to the plate...... Make someone's DAY !!!

Joan Mirantz, The self proclaimed Ms. Maven of Blogging is truly that.   Joan started a very special series that I began to look forward to every single week.  On Sundays Joan and her husband take Road Trips.  We are all allowed to come along and share some very special experiences we wouldn't normally have an opportunity to.  One of my favorite trips with Joan was:  New Hampshire Sunday Morning-#10 (Foliage Edition)

A while back I stumbled on the funniest post on Feng Shui I have ever read.  Poor Sheron Cardin was having issues trying to figure it all out.  What I didn't know at the time was that Sheron has a real interest in Feng Shui.  Whatever spurred this post of hers, I can't help but laugh to this day when I read it; you are guaranteed to as well:  Feng Shui Journal from a Decorator's Point Of View Part One: "The Love Stones"

Not long ago I stumbled on a "newbie."  I noticed someone with talent and he wasn't posting in any groups so he wasn't being found.  I emailed him and what comes across most in his posts are his absolute LOVE of what he does.  Read Fernando Rosado's post:  Staging Anecdotes I wanted to Share.... I love my job!!!

There are some people I shook my head at and went back and read their posts all over again.  How to choose one when you love them all?  Well, there is always one that stands out in your mind for one reason or another; the one that touched me the most by Sally "Celeste" Cheeseman was: A Hawaii Real Estate Story: The Faithful and Loyal Client

It wasn't all that long ago that I subscribed to Bill Cherry.  He's got a ‘Sunday in the Park' series and I love them all;  I think my favorite of his was:  SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH DALLAS REALTOR BILL CHERRY - 6th Edition

Jo-Anne Smith.  That's a sentence in itself.  I am astounded by her writing and thoughts but one post in particular hit me---HARD.  Because I knew it to be true.  I have not listened many times in the past because I had never heard it put quite that way.  Now I carry those words with me and think of them often:  Spirit Warns You Twice, The Third Time You Stand Alone

There is yet another beautiful series by the lovely Julie Neerings.  Julie is an absolute inspiration to me and if you've read her, she's likely one for you as well.  My favorite of her series was "L":  ABC Soup...A Day Full of L-LOVE

Want to learn things you may not have known?  And learn by one of the BEST?  I always read Colleen Kulikowski's posts and this was the one that gave me more then I would have expected:  ActiveRain Owner's Manual | Book 2

Lisa Heindel shares her life with us in her posts.  I think often of New Orleans and the hurricane that devasted it one day.  But I didn't have to live it, Lisa did...and here she shares the unimaginable with us:  Wake Me Up When September Ends

These are just some of my favorite posts that I have ever read on ActiveRain.  I hate to think of all I am missing....

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

Carole,  Your writing just seems to get better and better and better....I don't know how that is possible as you were an amazing writer when I first came across your blogs back in May when I joined AR, and look at you now!

I will be taking special note of the blogs you have mentioned here....some of them I haven't read yet, however I know if they come recommended by you, they likely have a VERY special message.

Thank you for mentioning my post.....somehow I kind of knew that would be the one of mine you'd pick; perhaps because you've told me so much how that phrase 'spirit warns you twice, the third time you stand alone' has stuck with you and you'll always consider it in all things now.

Jo, That post was very profound for me.  It's true for all of us, we are "warned."  And too many times I go against it.  Not anymore and I thank you for that----so does Laura, she read it as well; it had an impact on her too.

You have put a spot light on some of the cream of the crop. There is so much to read here in the rain that is very good, it's hard to keep up with it all. Back when A.R. first started you could read it all everyday for the first few weeks. But the explosion of experience that is shared here is incredible and a little hard to take it all in.

Carole... this is another way of paying forward. And even though I am subscribed to you, I missed this post. I remeber seeing it fearyred that day, but I got busy. I then searched my name within blogs and your post popped up because you had mentioned my name. You have a great list of bloggers mentioned here and I look forward to your follow up post with more. Doggone you, Miss Carole!

So the Thanksgiving dinner went well, my daughter-in-law didn't deliver our new granddaughter last night as it looked like was going to happen, and things have finally calmed down.  Patty and Peggy Sue, the dog, have gone to bed.  Ethyl, the cat, and I decided we'd check Active Rain for a few minutes so we could have some quality time.

Ethyl says to me, "Why don't you see what's on Miss Carole's mind today?"  He thinks it's just a matter of time before you confirm for everyone else what he and I have known for fifteen years -- a house is not a house without a house cat.

So I click, and I come up with this and I see you added me to your list of blogging friends.  I'm so appreciative, but there's no way I deserve that.  Everyone of the others you mentioned do, though.  Nevertheless, thanks for letting our friendship substitute for my lack of writing talent that's combined with my having nothing much to say.

By the way, Ethyl wants me to tell you that he is a boy cat and that Ethyl a boy's name.  Ethel is the spelling girls use.  He also made me promise to tell you sometime how he got his name.

GOD Blesses!

Billycherry

Trevor, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.  And WELCOME to Activerain!  Thank you for stopping in and commenting.

Julie, I have been missing that series and hope you get back to it soon as well.  They are each a beautiful and inspiring read; thank you for enlightening us!

Sal, I'm glad to hear that, these are some wonderful posts by some of the best writers I have found....Thank you for your comment.

Donna, I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving as well and I hope you get to read any that you might have missed, I think you will enjoy them!  Someday I will get to visit your lovely part of the earth...

Diane, Thank you and happy reading :)  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I took the day off from AR due to family, friends and cooking!

Donald, We sure do have a lot to be thankful for.  I had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you did as well. Thank you for taking the time to read the post and leave a comment.

Teri, Isn't that SAD?  I can't even begin to imagine what posts I am missing.  But if you believe you meet the people you are supposed to "meet" even here in the rain, I'm off to a wonderful start!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Dena, I don't ever remember being able to read them all, I signed on in Oct. 2006 but didn't become "active" until March I believe.  I don't remember how many members we had then but it's incredible the way this site grows!  Thank you for your comment.

Gail, I love your writings and your coaching abilities--I learn a lot from your posts as well!  And loved hearing all about Huntington, a very special town that I didn't know enough about!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Jeff, Isn't it funny, you never know where you're going to turn up?  I checked that once after you suggested it and saw someone had mentioned me and I hadn't known about it!  See, I'm reading :)  Thank  you for some wonderful information and that very funny post that I really enjoyed.

Sheron, I forgot to look at the date of your post but it still makes me laugh and I loved it. It was your MeMe however that made me contact you...hairdresser, Metaphysician...things that made me go hmmmm..

Bill, I am sure glad that Ethel was with you, he sounds like a sweetheart to remember me!  I love your Sunday series and your other posts, I hope they are being put in a collection somewhere...you have some of the most interesting stories that I just love!
