Ready for Turkey Talk Thursday? "How's Biz? I Hear The Market Crashed ..."

Ready to answer those questions? Uncle Joe will ask, so will cousin Mary. You'll likely get to address the sub-groups and the full group at least once.

What will you say?

Now I'm not suggesting you will be facing the Great Inquisition but your family may be looking for some re-assurance and some hope. Better yet your cocky bro-in-law might be looking to outbid you for top performer in the family. Not that any of you are into that stuff.

What will you say?

I wonder how many of us will say, "Oh this industry is just falling apart. I don't know when it will get better. I've been thinking about getting out of this business."

Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could say, "We really saw a bit of a mess but we were prepared for it. And many areas are already looking a bit stabilized. The good news is a recent NAR 'new survey clearly shows that people believe in the value of homeownership and know that owning a home is one of the best ways for most families to build a nest egg.'"

Be encouraging based on facts. Your family has heard enough misleading numbers and fear. I am not saying do not be truthful - I am encouraging you to know the facts and use them in your answers. The media has done a fine job of skewing the entire industry negative for the last several years. They don't need our help.

Save me a wing!

Ken-- It's amazing how much the media has contributed to the negative news about the real estate market. Yes, reality is that things are not as good as in past years. What I am tired of is the PROJECTIONS from all these so-called experts writing articles about how much more --10%, 20% or even 30% decline in home values will occur over the next two years...Give it a rest...We need to stay positive about the future market. Maybe the public should buy a home at a fair price when and where they want to buy and stop listening to the so-called experts about when prices will bottom out or when they sould buy--thanks--mike
