I have been predominately a listing agent the past four years. My advertising arsenal consists of My Web Site which up loads to over fifteen other sites as well, Realtor .com, Craig's list, Zillow.com, Talking House, The MLS,Virtual Tours, and now on  Active Rain.

Yes, there is an expense that comes with advertising listings. Do any of these places work better than others, I couldn't tell you. I can't say that I can contribute a sale to anyone of these tools. I think that the combination of all is what works. Who knows. If anyone on Active Rain has the sure fire way to advertise, please share.

I don't know if they actually bring in sells but you are definitely getting your name out and keeping it fresh in the consumers face.

The Internet is the best place to get set up.  I am constantly working on web page rankings.

Do you use an intake sheet?  What is you paid the buyer $25.00 at close of escrow for completing a brief survey to help you determine what marketing is working best.  It would be an incentive for the buyer that you can easily get the selling agent to offer to the buyer.

The info is critical if you are to make informed decisions about your marketing.  It would be also useful in your business plan.

The internet is the best place for all of us to market for the future and now. I basically use it as my main marketing.

I doubt many people will disagree that the internet is a great place to advertise both your listings and your brand.  However, if you aren't tracking your results from each site you are displayed on, you will never be able to leverage your time and money to its fullest potential.  All of these sites that you are (or could be) syndicating your listings to (trulia.com, zillow.com, craigslist, google base, etc) have very different visitor demographics and traffic numbers.  It's in your best interest to determine which sites work best for your market and your type of listings.

If you are willing to pay for an online service to display your listings or your brand, you are doing yourself a disservice not to track the results.  The internet makes it WAY too easy to do so.

I just discovered Visual Tour at the NAR Convention and think it is great.  I've used Listing Domains as well, which sellers love, and I too believe the internet is where it is at for marketing.... which is why I am in the midst of building my new blogging website (with the Real Estate Tomato).
