Everyone tells you it's the thing to do. Your friends have done it. Your parents did it – probably a couple of times! And they're right – you should buy a home. You've probably already weighed the benefits, and decided that home ownership is the right choice for you.
More than 80% of all home searches today begin on the Internet. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can search through hundreds of online listings, view virtual tours, and sort through dozens of photographs and aerial shots of neighborhoods and homes. By the time you reach your us, you're halfway to home ownership.
Like all good real estate agents, we'll listen to your wants and needs, and arrange to show only those homes that fit your particular parameters. Here's a great tip: Studies show that your memory dramatically improves after consumption of carbs and slows upon consuming sugar. So, cut your consumption of soft drinks, and have a hearty meal of carbs before venturing out to tour homes. Don't expect to see 20 or 30 homes in one day; although it's physically possible to do so, you probably wouldn't remember specific details about any of them.
We came across this great analogy on About.com, and we think you'll be able to relate. Suppose you need a new pair of athletic shoes. You go to the mall. At the first shoe store, you find a fabulous pair of shoes. You try them on. They fit perfectly. They are sturdy. Priced right, too. Do you buy them? Of course not! You go to every other store in the mall trying on athletic shoes until you are ready to drop from exhaustion. Then you return to the first store and buy those athletic shoes. The point? Don't shop for a home this way. When you find the perfect home, buy it.
