Yesterday I told you about our Annual Turkey Run, it is actually our 34th Annual Turkey Run.
This event is so popular that people come in from around the world to see the cars that come to Daytona Beach during Thanksgiving Weekend.
If you don't want to go to the speedway to view the cars there are other places to go. I go to the Bellair Shopping Plaza for a couple reasons.
My main reason? It's closer to home. Reason 2? It's a smaller type venue (even though it is not an organized event). Reason 3? The cars are are all in the same area, and reminds me of the events I used to attend weekly in Upstate NY. And... the final reason?
One of 14 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible's that is there every year!
I took these night photos in 2005
Is this not a beautiful work of art?
And these photos I took in 2006
Yes folks I do believe this is the real thing. In 1971, 14 Hemi Cuda Convertibles were produced and only 11 of them stayed in the United States.
I believe this particular car is from Orange City, FL just west of Daytona Beach. and is owned by Joe Blankenship. If I have the right person and car, he purchased it for the super low price of $10,000. I found an article here while researching this car. Mopar Muscle ~ Yellow Fever
At auction, these cars can fetch as much at 2.2 million dollars.
I also saw these vehicles last year.
I love the classics! Even the rusty ones :)
You didn't think I wouldn't find a classic bike now did you!?!?
I never saw the owner....
I hope you enjoyed your mini Classic Car Show! If you are in Daytona Beach this weekend, Bellair Plaza is located at 2500 N. Atlantic Ave. otherwise known as A1A. Just follow the classic cars, bring your lawn chair as they will be cruising A1A all day long!
I'll try to get you photos from last years Gas Light Parade that I took also. That is a blast!
Have A Great Thanksgiving Everyone!
