Knights of Columbus Annual Basketball Free Throw Competition ~ Shelton CT Saturday, February 11, marks the return of the annual Free Throw Competition sponsored by the Knights of Columbus  Bernardo Council and Msgr. Joseph Fitzgerald Council. 

 

The event will be held at Shelton Intermediate School gym, 675 Constitution Boulevard North with registration beginning at 2 p.m.   There is no entry fee.

 

Boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate.  Proof of age and written parental consent are required. Each sharp shooter will be awarded a certificate of participation.

 

An annual event, more than 179,000 youngsters participated last year in over 3,000 local competitions across the United States.  Winners progress through local, district, regional and state competitions.  Knights of Columbus Annual Basketball Free Throw Competition ~ Shelton CT

 

Each contestant will be given three warm-up free throws.  Then the participant will attempt 15 free throws.

10- and 11-year olds will shoot from 12 feet.
12-14 year olds will shoot from the 15-foot standard.

Barbara, any type of activity like this that gets the kids involved is a good thing. The Knights of Columbus should have a great event, no snow to keep the people away.

Big event across the whole country and agood cause. the kids will have a great time. I played a lot of B Ball when when I was grwoing up and we all lived for these types of competition .
