"VENTURE OUT"

Located just a half mile down the street from our home on Cudjoe Key, 23 miles east of the "Southernmost Point" in the Continental U.S., is a very nice RV resort known as "Venture Out".  The park has 659 RV lots, most measuring 30 feet by 70 feet.  There is a nice system of deep-water canals serving the canalfront lots, and there are oceanfront lots, also.  Many of the lot owners have their campers or RVs pretty much permanently situated, but there are a number of empty lots used seasonally by owners and renters.  A good number of folks live full time at Venture Out, many have second/vacation homes there.

The park features many nice ammenities, including  a large swiming pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, marina, and country store.  All of the canals empty directly into the Atlantic Ocean.

Now that the "Snowbirds" are returning here from the Northern states for the Winter, the resort is once again filling up, and the place will soon be buzzing again.  Check it out at http://voresort.org.  Also, please take a look below at a very special listing I have in Venture Out-it's one of the only double-lot properties in the community, and it has TWO off-street parking spaces instead of just one!!

Here are some photos of the property and check out the listing info at www.bruceinthekeys.com

I think it looks great, Bruce.  Something my mother in law would like, as she loves to explore the country in her RV.

Too many rules, RV'ers, beware, not all owners, but the majority, are just there to torment the owners of 5th wheels and RV's, the travelers that arrive for 2 months or 3 months just to get away from the cold, spending their hard earned money just to feel better!  I could name the particular owners by lot #, but I won't, but there is one woman in the lower numbered lots area, (70ish), that walks around with a clip board trying to find lot renters all over the park who might be breaking the OH SO MANY RULES.  This camp is NOT PET FRIENDLY, do not think as they allow dogs that you can relax with a dog while on site.  You CANNOT WALK your dog in the park at all (but CATs are allowed to run free, which is more of a health issue as there is no where for them to dig, no grass, just stone and pea grit) even when, as the avid Florida RV Visitor knows, YOU ALWAYS PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG, they wont allow you to walk them in the park, so you have to put the dog in the car to take them outside the gate (as they might go to the bathroom, if they cant make it, between your lot and the gate), or confine them to your lot.  As many dog owners know, Dogs dont like to use their own area to potty, so it makes it so difficult to relax as you are never quite sure if you Dog is comfortable or not!    The realtors that rent the lots for the owners are pathetic, they are not organized or bothered if you have isssues with your lot like NO ELECTRICITY, or WATER, they are interested in the renatl of the lot, and thats it.  Many of the lots dont have the option to add internet, beware, this park is home to many retired people that dont have enough to occupy their day, so they pick on anyone who is not accumstomed to the stringent rules (some of them are so rediculous, we are unsure if the board members that pass them are mentally stable!)

I have been coming to the VO park now for 7 years.  There are good experiences and not so good. My family owns a lot and i know from experiences that we have had with the renters good and not so good but  With the renters i guess  you just roll with the punches.   The one thing i hate is that the park shuts the water off sometimes doesn't post when they will shut it off. It isn't nice when your doing laundry or using the dishwasher or taking a shower and you have soap in your eyes.  Not fun.  I always have a bucket off water handy if they do shut it off.                                                                                                                                                            I am from California and love to go visit family down the keys and enjoy some of our friends that we made from the park.   I love the TGIF Friday partys and love the block flea markets, Pancake breakfasts!  All in all the park is cool for young and old. My sisters and i are in our 30's and 20's. For us there is  a lot activities for us to do. We love hanging out at the pool riding our bikes and using our uncles boat for a boat ride.  Love the VO and miss it.
