Motivational Power Quote

The Power of Listening

“The key thing I’ve learned is that the

most powerful thing you can do is listen.”

Debby Hopkins, Chief Operations and Technology Officer, Citigroup

As I see it . . . . . . .

The power of listening

One of the most powerful resources that a person has in their arsenal of success tools is the power of listening.

A listener is an intelligence gather the more they listen the more information they gather and in most situations the person with the most information is in control of the situation.

A professional listener trains themselves to be a proactive listener and to speak with a purpose to engage the person that their speaking with. They control the communications not by talking but by encouraging the other to speak.

By listening you devolve rapport with the other person and they will relax and openly communicate with you.

The power of listening is an invaluable resource and an acquired skill.
