This morning I awoke to Holiday Travel delays as the lead story on all the local news channels.  Mind you this was at 5:30AM and they were already showing pictures of backed up NYC airports were and advising travels to get to the airport hours before their flight.

It is times like this that I wonder what can possibly be done to fix our nation's travel problems.  The airline industry is suffering from a number of problems, and delays are one of their biggest downfalls.  Here in the NYC metro area there has been talk of reducing the number of flights or even building another airport.  Personally, I'm for any solution that fixes the problem.  During the holidays you don't want to be stuck in an airport for hours on end missing valuable time with your family.

That's funny because on our news they were saying how no airports even the major didnt have delays and things were running smoothly. Go figure. Your Orlando & Lake Mary Real Estate Expert, Heather Joubran

I am on the road (it is 2:30) and poo poo poo, no traffic and we are already in Brooklyn.  Say your prayers for us that we will have continued moving traffic all the way to So Jersey...what a glorious day!

Sal, in the airline industry de-regulation ushered in the low-fare era. But now with energy costs skyrocketing we'll see consolidation. As more and more airlines merge the cycle will complete itself. They'll be fewer airlines. Competiiton will decrease and profitability should increase. It's a long winded comment. Jut too many carriers chasing the same carrot. Sound familiar?
