The reason is this, i don't feel that we are so much in competition, this is a huge issue in our business.

Everyone is trying to be a one man (or woman) show and they will limit the success they can have.  Rather than be in competition i am working on building my network.

Why?  i want to sell listings and i want to get buyers, quite simple really, the more people you know personally the more chance they will try to show your listing to the buyers they haev when you get a new listing.

I work a lot in the investor community in my area and this works very well, the more you nework the better you become and the more your business will flourish.

Hi Craig:  I think building a personal network is one of many valuable things to do to guarantee success in real estate.  Many Realtors call the "group of people" they know... their "sphere of influence."  I call mine... my Sphere of Relationships.  Thanks for sharing.  May you and your family have a Wonderful Thanksgiving.  Take care...     Karen Anne

Networking is my favorite thing to do.  Cant meet enough people and for me, wanting referral business, building those relationships is very important.  I am not in this business for a one time close.  Relationships...they are rich to the soul and also bring you more business.  When times are slow, of course, we have more time for this.  But then again, a lot of agents during slow times stay home and give up.  Not me!  Marketing is the fun part.  Meeting new people.  Sharing.  Thanks for the post and have a great holiday.

Craig,

Networking is key....and it may not ba a certain group to be with...it could just be one person in that group that gets you to another...so you have to leave your comfort zone and explore....
