Can you believe it! I'm NOT invited to go this year!

I can't imagine why I of all dogs excuse me...DIVAS is not allowed to be at the dinner. I have spent days planning just what would be perfect to wear in my hair. I have been soooo GOOD!

It all started a few days ago when Mommy got a call from her brother (Uncle Quarter...his real name is Porter). He invited her to his house for the dinner.

I didn't realize that I was not included. She told me this morning that I could not go. She tried to explain that he was concerned that I would chase their NEW kitties and be a general nuisance. WHAT! Like I would even. Who would even bother with some stinkin barn cats? Why would I get off my pillow to do something so silly?

Don't they know my name is CHANEL? All that stinky dog stuff is for other dogs. I spend my day being pampered and catered to. Mommy does what I want! I run the show! All plans, trip and excursions include me(and my green teddy). I even have a bed in Mommy's car.

It's ALL about ME! ME! ME!

Well...all this ranting is making me sleepy. Besides, there will be peace and quiet here at the crib for awhile. Mommy will surely be missing me and will give me lots of kisses and treats when she gets back from stuffing her face with turkey. Hey I might even do better by not going to Thanksgiving Dinner! She will feel guilty and give me more attention! OK...now I feel much better. Thanks for listening!

 Happy Thanksgiving EVERYONE!!!!

Love,

CHANEL

P.S. This is officially the 100th blog post for my mommy...I know she won't mind that I stole the show!

Lizette,

Never though of that...my 17 yr old Roscoe will surely miss his turkey. He can't have any poultry in his diet so I guess it will just have to be lamb and rice mix. Happy Thanksgiving!

I feel your pain ... I'm not allowed to go to the dinner this year either! What's up with that? I ALWAYS  got to go in the past.

Yes, our Moms will feel tremendous guilt and will give us even greater rewards afterward.

Enjoy your nap and when she comes home, jump up & down to greet her as if she were gone for DAYS!

Mommy has no idea that I will be hijacking her computer while she's gone. O Well...she shouldn't have left me in charge of the home office.

Neal - Roscoe will surely miss on scraps that fall off the table. Since he can't eat that stuff maybe he won't know what he's missin out on. Give him a hug for me....Chanel

Steve- Are you kiddin? She won't give me table scraps at all! Turkey? I'd be dreamin for sure! Chanel

Suzanne - Now that's the way it should be done! Maybe you can call Uncle Quarter and change his mind....then can you call a taxi to come pick me up? Chanel

Teri - See above answer...ARE YOU KIDDIN?? Happy Thanksgiving!!! Chanel

Murph - You are so right! I have all day to plan what to do when she gets here. Sometimes I roll over on my back and wiggle around...then she will kiss my tummy! I ALWAYS love it when she does that. I'd share my bone with you if you lived here. Chanel

Josette - Thanks for taking my side. I need more girlfriends like you! Chanel

Sheffield and Bosco- You two aren't any better off than me this year. I feel your pain! We will have to do better with Christmas dinner. You two are cute...do you need a girlfriend? Chanel

Al - See above answer...ARE YOU KIDDIN??I have never been allowed anything but dog food. My treat that I lOVE is an ice cube! YUM!!! I like those so good that now Mommy freezes chunks of my dog food for me. I LOVE that stufF! Chanel

I'm starting to feel so much better about having to stay home! I never knew I had so many friends out in cyberworld. I should get on Mommy's computer more often! Thanks guys!!!  Chanel

Dont give your dogs turkey its really bad for them!  Honestly but I do feel they should be invited to the party/feast.  I told my guests to bring their dogs and they could romp in the back yard with my boys Max and Henri BUT no turkey!!

Hi Chanel - is your mom still gone?  Bosco and I are really cute, but Bosco isn't interested in girls.  I am, however, quite a stud and could definitely use a girlfriend!

Sugar Girlfriend...we don't need those extra calories anyway. Imagine this...instead we can lay around at home and not be bothered by those kids with runny noses. They NEVER even wash their hands! YucK! I'm gonna do just fine hanging out at the crib enjoying my friends here on AR. I should have done this blogging a long time ago! Sugar, you can come over and we can get pedicures together sometime! Happy Thanksgiving!!! XOXO CHANEL

Connie - I thank my lucky stars now that I didn't have to go. I've heard that cat hair sticks to everything! Can you imagine having MORE hair sticking to me? I think NOT! The skeleton was supposed to be my rocker look...like a headbanger. Good eye there...you were the only one that noticed I had changed my hairdo. Like a wardrobe change....haha! Katie

Hi Chanel - my daddy took everyone to a hotel for this Thanksgiving thing. I pulled a really long face so they all thought I was upset when they were leaving but then i had the whole house to myself. Somehow I managed to get into the place they keep my treats and I had an extra one - ok, it might have been two or three - and then when they came home i got into this position and they all rubbed my full belly.

Love Katie XOXOX

Sally- You did the right thing! Staying home with your doggie was the right thing to do. I hope you don't catch the flu from your Mom. Those flu bugs are kinda like fleas...once you get one on you ...you can't get rid of those little buggers! Then you'll get a bath. I hate that!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!XOXO Chanel

Karen - I will sure keep that in mind itf this happens again. I can at least tease Mommy and make her think I might move to your house if she pulls this stunt again! Thanks!! Chanel

Gayle- You did the right thing too! I bet you snuggled together on the couch and watch the parade. I was glad it was on TV because all those people and balloons are scary. I always worry that someone will step on me. That might hurt! OuCh!!! Give your babies a Thanksgiving kiss for me! XXXXX Chanel

I cooked a turkey and donated the bones and gizzards to my friend's homeless kitties that roam in her yard.  I usually save that for soup and giblet gravy.  She even made me cook it first for them and made me give her gravy to go with it:) Animals rule!

Chanel,

I just have to tell you that your mom is ripping you off, yes that's right! My mom use to take me to a holistic vet (until the vet moved away) and the vet said it was okay to have human food mixed into my dog food, I could have anything that was healthy(no extra fat) and no grapes, so I get carrots, squash, chicken, beef, pork, other meat, veggies and fruit and pretty much whatever my mom eats that is healthy. I am very tiny(6lbs) so if I don't get human food in my food I refuse to eat. Which scares my mom so I get my way......yes we sure know how to keep them under our paws!!

PS. I use to live with a cat and they really are not very nice to us dogs....I never understood her.

Ed - AWWWwwwww...that was a nice thing to do for some kitties. Hopefully those won't grow into the type that terrorize us poor dogs. Chanel

Kiann...My Mommy still would never feed it to me. I think part of it would be that I would constantly be begging for food all the time. Right now I have no idea what it tastes like, so if she is eating I really don't care...even if I was lying right beside her. I do like chicken jerky and dried sweet potatoes. That is sometimes a treat. I like scaring my Mom too. A good hunger strike makes her crazy! XOXO Chanel

Chanel, My Mommy doesn't have any silly realtives to tell her who she can and cannot take with her to dinner. Mommy and Daddy took me for a ride to the beach after they had their dinner out and when we got home I had a big plate of Turkey and Trimmings. Tell Chanel  that she can come to my house any time...I don't have any stupid cats here.

Hi Chanel, sorry you didn't get invited for Thanksgiving Dinner. :(  I didn't either, my Mom & Dad went to someplace called New Jersey and I had to stay in a kennel for the entire week!  :(  I was really happy to see them when they came to get me.  I'm glad they'll be home for Christmas because there are presents under the tree with MY name on them and I can't wait to tear into them.  I hope I get a new teddy bear and some special doggie treats in my stocking.

Merry Christmas, Chanel...

Chanel, you should come down here and visit.  My Mom says you'd probably feel right at home.  She sold houses to some people from around where you live.  They work for Toyota (like my Dad) and moved down here to build the Tundra trucks.  My friend, Jasper, is from Kentucky.

Hi Chanel, My Mommie says she's already has your Mommie on her list if anyone moves back to Kentucky.  Darn, they gave me a bath today, well, I didn't mind that too much but I sure hate it when they decide to brush me!!  I decided it was a good time to take a nap in my bed instead of Mommie's lap, because she kept trying to brush me while I was trying to relax and take a nap.

I'm looking forward to Christmas Day, my human brother is coming over.  I like playing with him, except he just calls me DOG and I like to be called Zydeco or Zydie.  I won't get to eat people food but I figure I'm not missing much, my food is really good and Mommie buys me lots of different kinds of treats.  Oh, and I LOVE ice cubes too!!!  Every time Mommie or Daddy get ice, I wait politely for my ice, don't beg, just sit nicely and smile at them and they always make sure I get some ice too.

San Antonio is a nice place to live.  I don't get to go to many places, but I like my neighborhood and I love my yard.  Mommie and I wrote a post about the Christmas Lights here in San Antonio, we found blinking Christmas lights and put them on the post too.  I'll tell Mommie to write more about San Antonio, then, you can see all the things to do here.  Problem is, they probably won't take you to most of the places -- Mommie says, Dogs aren't allowed to visit the museums and concerts.

Talk to you later,

Your friend,

Zydeco
