Where Do I Find a Starbucks in Scottsdale?

First and foremost, I'd like to welcome all of our winter visitors to beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona.  Whether you are staying in lush McCormick Ranch, peaceful Scottsdale Ranch, the newer McDowell Mountain Ranch with its desert vistas or any of our other wonderful communities, you are going to have some questions.

Sure, you would like to know where to find parking for your hike up Camelback Mountain.

You might even have some vague interest in driving directions for your trip to the Grand Canyon.

But we both know what your first order of business is upon stepping off the plane at Sky Harbor Airport.

You need coffee.  NOW!

Fortunately, you are in luck. While Scottsdale may have a shortage of rain, ice, sleet and snow in the winter, you can't throw a rock in any direction without hitting a Starbucks barista. For your sipping pleasure, here is a handy map to Scottsdale locations. The ones at 92nd St & Shea, Hayden & Osborn are drive-thrus. There is another brand new drive-thru location at Indian Bend & Pima which doesn't appear on the map.  Whichever location you choose, be sure to tell them that Paul says hi, and he'll be by for his venti black coffee directly!

I need Starbucks now to stay awake after eating turkey!

Obviously you know all these because you've probably visited them all.  But, you're just being a great help to those snowbirds.  Love your being their 'over-caffeinated Realtor' - Too Cool!  Hope you had a great day!

PAUL:  You know how I feel about Starbuck's.  They are great!  Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving.  I'll speak to you soon.

Paul - I recently found a site that has photos of all of hte Austin locations, and I counted 61 at that time.  I know that they are about to open one near my home (cool!).  I hope you and your family had a great holiday!

I know you were compelled to write this post since you are an Active Rain Addict! :)  Happy Turkey Day Funny guy!

Isn't that the truth, Linda.  I just stepped back inside from the front patio.  There was just the slightest chill to the air which made for a wonderfully relaxing combination of coffee and Baileys in front of a little chiminilla fire.  I hope you had a great day, Linda.

Paul:

I love your posts!  You always have the funniest things to talk about.  I love it!  Starbucks locations! HA!HA!  So funny and yet so useful.

As a recent discoverer of Coffee and the many benefits that it adds to my already sleep deprived life....I would find this very handy if I was visiting your way.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

11/22/2007 10:06 PM by Jessica Horton (Brio Realty)

Every last one of them, Marc!  You're talking to a guy who used to bring a thermos of coffee to high school.  Some days Kona, others Sumatra.  If I was really living the high life on a particular day, I'd hit my first period class with Jamaican Blue Mountain.  Mmm.  I'm not kidding that many of the employees know my name.  My wife and I take the boys to one particular location just about every morning.  When she sees us walk through the door, the girl at the register calls out our drinks before we even open our mouths.  I am a caffeine fiend.

11/22/2007 10:06 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

I have a pretty good idea of where you stand on the Starbucks front, Adam.  You and I are firmly entrenched in the "Pro-Starbucks" camp.  Hope your Turkey Day was great, and I'll be talking to you soon.

11/22/2007 10:09 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

That is a whole lotta coffee, Jason!  Interestingly enough, of all the places I have visited, the place where I noticed the highest concentration of Starbucks ... London.  Go figure.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, Jason.

11/22/2007 10:11 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

I did, Diane.  Thanks for the just-in-case reminder, though.  I hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving.

11/22/2007 10:13 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Thank you, Jessica!  Welcome to the Church of the Savory Bean.  Worship service generally takes place in the early morning.  Advanced parishioners may genuflect in the evenings as well.  True believers have mugs in hand at all times.  I would post more often, but typing with one hand is time consuming ;)

I hope you and Jason had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

11/22/2007 10:20 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

I try to cycle through each of them, so that no one will understand the depth of my caffeine addiction.  Is it bad for me to drink 19 venti mocha lattes daily?

11/22/2007 10:36 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Yes, it is.  To come up one venti mocha latte short of 20 makes you a quitter.

11/22/2007 10:41 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Paul, We have Starbucks everywhere here in Las Vegas too!  I'm not much of a coffee person, so I don't visit them frequently.

11/23/2007 12:39 AM by Roberta LaRocca - REALTOR® Las Vegas (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace)

I always need to know where the Starbucks are.  Haven't been to beautiful Scottsdale in awhile, now I know I'll be OK if I visit!

11/23/2007 06:34 AM by Peggy K - Illinois Virtual Tour Provider and Real Estate Photographer (Grand Property Virtual Tours)

Paul - Thanks for pointing me to my nearest caffeine fix when I next visit the Phoenix area. I'm going to try to plan a spring training visit. Wanna catch a game?

11/23/2007 09:07 AM by Tom Plant - Murrieta Real Estate Expert - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage)

Be advised, Roberta.  If you are not a coffee person, don't ever become one.  It's an expensive addiction these days!

11/23/2007 09:16 AM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Absolutely, Tom!  You let me know, and we'll make it happen.  Incidentally, there are a couple of Starbucks not too far from Scottsdale Stadium ;)

Brother Paul:

Do you need a new witness?  I would love to give my testimony for what the Holey (at the lid) Styrofoam Cup has done for me!

11/23/2007 09:22 AM by Jessica Horton (Brio Realty)

Preach, Sister Jessica!  Can I get an amen from the congregation?!!

11/23/2007 09:24 AM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Paul,  Been there - done that!  And you do know your coffee!  I like that in another person!  I've been very fond of it myself.

11/24/2007 11:55 AM by Marc Grossman, GRI - Central Florida Real Estate Specialist (Keller Williams Premier Realty)

TG For Starbucks !  Where would I work outside of my home if there was no Starbucks close by?

11/24/2007 09:01 PM by James Downing - REALTOR® - Washington DC Real Estate (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage)

As do I, Marc.  I drink at least as much coffee as I do water.

That's a good question, James.  Great place to get some work done, enjoy some good coffee, and meet new potential clients.

I did have a great holiday, Katerina.  Thank you so much for asking.  I trust you and Nestor had a great weekend as well.

Great Stuff Paul. Here in Vancouver it is hard to go 2 blocks without seeing a Starbucks. We had the second 'bucks outside Seattle. I just did a google map search for Starbucks in Vancouver, but they do't have them all on there. Did you make that map yourself with MyMaps or use their search results?

Have to run, making dinner. kids screaming.

11/26/2007 07:16 PM by Matthew Collinge, REALTOR®, Vancouver Homes (Royal LePage Westside)

I used the search results on Google, Matthew.  I'm only aware of a couple of the newer locations that were missed, so it should serve the javaheads well.  It helped make it manageable by staying in Scottsdale rather than opening up to the entire Phoenix area.  Browsers would have crashed with all of that data!  Thanks for commenting, and hope dinner time was more manageable in your household than in mine!

11/26/2007 08:34 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Paul, in the D.C. area we have Starbucks EVERYWHERE!  And I read somewhere that Starbucks is opening more because they believe D.C. is not yet overly saturated with caffeine.  In fact, in D.C. proper, on 14th street, there are two Starbucks directly across the street from each other.  So if you tell someone you are meeting them at Starbucks on 14th street, you actually have to specify which side of the street!

11/27/2007 06:48 AM by Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance)

Brian, good to hear from you, buddy!  We have a couple of locations like that.  I have had clients go to the wrong Starbucks before.  Up near Frank Lloyd Wright and the Loop 101, there are at least 3 locations in very close proximity.  I pick a different meeting spot now!

11/27/2007 11:05 AM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Hey, I just found that Starbucks allows you to check for locations within 5, 10, 20, or 50 miles of any address on their website. I don't really know miles so well being in Canada, but there are 101 Starbucks within 5 miles of my place which is just outside downtown. They also have mobile apps to allow you to find the closest Starbucks from your phone.

11/27/2007 12:03 PM by Matthew Collinge, REALTOR®, Vancouver Homes (Royal LePage Westside)

That is crazy, Matthew!  101 Starbucks within a 5 mile radius?  I'll have to check that out for the greater Phoenix area.  Pretty soon the map of North America is just going to be one giant Starbucks logo.
