What A Combination - Chocolate With The Benefits of Wine - Breckenridge Real Estate
It's cheap, it's chocolate, and it boasts anti-aging and healthy heart benefits.
The new WineTime Bar not only tastes luxuriously delicious, but it's also good for you, in terms of the ingredients the 190-calorie bar packs. Made primarily from dates and chocolate coating, the WineTime bars, which come in two flavors: chocolate, date and almonds, and chocolate-raspberry, unfortunately have a lot of sugar (19 grams and 17 grams, respectively), but they also have 7-8 grams of fiber, health-boosting “super fruits” (cranberry, noni, pomegranate, goji berry, acai, mangosteen and blueberry), and resveratrol, an antioxidant believed to protect cells from free radical damage, lower blood pressure, help heart function, normalize the body's anti-inflammatory response and slow down signs of aging.
The bar contains more resveratrol than 50 glasses of red wine and uses the “right kind” — 99 percent pure trans-resveratrol from French red grapes grown in the Rhone valley.
While some “health” bars taste a little “off,” especially when they try to infuse fruits like raspberry, WineTime is the first I've ever tried that truly is gourmet, coming as close to a pure fresh chocolate, wine and raspberry mix as possible. It's also free of hydrogenated oils, corn syrup, dairy and gluten and contains some vitamins and minerals. The bar retails for $2.99 at Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods or at www.winetimebar.com.
