Do your home work before getting involved, Looks like a scam to me.
Dear Inspector, I know you are aware of the tremendous concern over the explosion of REO (bank owned repossessions) properties in this country. New Image Software is a Preferred Solution Provider for an innovative company called BidDay Online Real Estate Auctions. BidDay has developed a state of the art process to sell bank owned properties through their online auction website. This is where you come in, since each property will need to be inspected by a qualified home inspector. You will be paid $290 to inspect each property plus another $70 if you offer termite inspection services. No billing will be required as inspection fees will be automatically deposited into your checking account.
If you would like to see if you qualify for this once in a lifetime opportunity, just click on the following link (or paste into your browser). http://www.bidday.com/pressrelease/
Next, visit our website below to learn how you can obtain home inspection software that meets BidDay requirements for just $99 per month. A 10 day free trial and online training videos are available to help you get started.
We hope to hear from you soon.

16 Comments on Inspectors Did you get this email ?
I think I did, but I deleted it. I think they may be called bidet, and not www."bidday".com If they are serious, they can send me detailed info through regular mail.
It sounds off to me. Free referrals just pay me $99 per month for the rest of your life. The fees they pay are relatively cheap. Some of the repo's we go in you could spend most of the day writing up defects, missing dish washers, broken cabinetry etc.
They say they pay 270.00 for the inspection and 70.00 for termites. Plus they want you bank account # so they could make direct deposits. On top of that they have a place you can put you zip code in to see what they have listed. I did not find any thing in a 250 mile radius around me not that I would drive that far for a inspection. You also need to buy there reporting system 1000. plus maintenance fees.
I'm assuming that Image software has a deal with Bidday and Bidday "accepted" this software as the approved software. Meaning you can only use Bidday with this $99 per month softway. See my questions to them. I believe if they believe in their product then they would put some skin in the game.
Here was my response to them.
I'd be interested if the payments were deferred or contingent on getting actual inspections in the area.
It would not be good business to sign up to pay someone a fee for no guarantee. I'd like for you to have some "skin in the game" also.
I've performed and/approved over 2000 initial and draw inspections for a hard money lender working as the local inspector and as supervisor to inspectors in 11 states. I've rehabbed quite a few properties.
I'm interested in any opportunity that would benefit us both and would like to have some guarantee that this would be the case.

Here is their response.
I forwarded your suggestion to BidDay as I have no say in that matter. I can provide you with software to interface with them. You can rent or purchase, heck you can use it in trial mode for 10 days and buy it with just a few inspections.
I treated the email as spam. We are constantly bombarded with the "next great thing" to increase our business and put more money in our pockets. Seems to me that these "things" are really designed to put money in their pockets.
I my opinion this is a scam in more way than one. There are fees charged to home inspectors to register. And if you want to sign up as a buyer, you also have to register with a monthly fee. In both cases they require your credit card. Yet when you search the Bidday site, there is absolutely no properties available for auction. Do a zip code search anywhere, and you will find nothing. I have tried zip codes all over the US with no luck, not even in the city where Bidday's PO box is. :)
I also find it strange that the "auctioneer" does not have a business registration in the State of California, no auctioneers license, and when I googled the phone number, it also came up as a phone number for a real estate office in Seattle. Not sure why.....but there are too many unanswered questions.
I receive a new email scam almost everyday. My favorites though are from actual callers from third party dispatch companies who want me to drive 50 miles for a $40 dollar inspection. These people should be lynched..
