Red Hook NY real  estate market

In the month of January in Red Hook NY 3 homes sold, and what a spread in the price range $190,000 - $1,200,000.  The $1,200,00 was a lovely stone house and farm from 1733.  One house went under contract in the month of January, however there were 14 new listings.

Based on market data for the county and the individual towns, most of the homes sold in January fell in the range below $300,000.  What does that mean for you?  If your Red Hook home is priced above this range your days on market will probably be longer, then again there is always an exception to the rule.

If you are thinking of selling I strong recommend you put your house on the market sooner that later.  Before you do take steps to make it show ready.  A real estate agent can give you some suggestions.  I have always enjoyed helping clients get a sense of what changes to make, so that the home is more appealing and will sell for more.

Kwee usually in January winter is in full force so fewer homes are listed then, the pace will pick up come spring.  With the mild weather my advice to  sellers is to get a head start because the buyers are out now.
