Eastern North Carolina is known as the home of the pirate, Blackbeard, and perhaps where somePirate of his treasures were buried three centuries ago.

Many businesses are learning there are other treasures in Eastern North Carolina such as

  • Some of the Lowest Tax Rates - North Carolina has no inventory or raw material tax.
  • Incentives for Locating in North Carolina - We support new and relocating businesses with many local, regional and state programs as a commitment to their success.
  • Right to Work State - We have the lowest unionization rate in the country.
  • Job Training Resources - Our community colleges are nationally recognized and are free to qualifying new and expanding businesses.
  • Labor pool - Boosted by 12,000 annual military discharges.  North Carolina's workmen's compensation and unemployment rates are among the lowest in the nation.
  • Affordable Building and Building Sites -Land and building sites are reasonably priced and power rates are  below the national average.
  • Easy Access by Air, Interstate, Railroad and Deep Water Ports - Our location puts us within overnight reach of 170 million U.S and Canadian consumers.
  • Moderate Weather - Eastern North Carolina has mild winters with little snow and ice.  Bogue Sound Emerald Isle N C
  • Relaxed Style of Living - North Carolina consistently ranks as one of the best places to live in the United States.
  • Quality of Life  - The communities of Eastern North Carolina are small and an area where people still believe in neighbors helping neighbors.

If you are considering relocating a business, Eastern North Carolina is a location you will want to investigate.

Cynthia - The area seems to have alot to offer, with the new year approaching here is hoping your enticing offer will appeal to some new business, which then leads to purchase of residential properties.  Interesting pirate, Port Royal in Jamaica was one of the pirate's hangout, the city was destroyed by earthquake and the feeling by some was that this was because of the debauchery.

Cynthia - I can agree with you on NC being a wonderful place to live. On top of the natural beauty in the state, North Carolina is so centally located on the East Coast. You're within  a short drive to the major hubs of the east. I really enjoy your localism pieces.

Hello Jennifer,
I am proud of all the advantages that our area has to offer businesses as well as residents.

Blackbeard was quite a character.  Interesting that people believe the earthquake was due to his immoral lifestyle.

Hi Cynthia, great information.  It's my understanding that half the population in NC comes from New Jersey!

Cynthia, I know North Carolina is one of the best places to retire because of the weather and low taxes.  I haven't been there in so long but I do remember it's beautiful!

Hi Cynthia, good information on why one should relocate to North Carolina. I know of a "few" who have left our wonderful state to go there. We are also a right to work state. We do not have deep ports nearby though. What is the weather like, typically? Humid? Tornados or Hurricanes? Mosquitos? Arizona has heat, and lots of it. So what's it like there?

Hello Keith & Robin,
Well sounds like it time for a trip to NC for you guys.  :0)

Hi Teri,
Our summers are humid, we very seldom have tornadoes but.... hurricanes --we had more than our share a few years ago but have not had a serious one in several years now.   Mosquitoes, yes we have them but not usually a problem for being outdoors.    The Spring and Fall are our very best times of the year.  Thanksgiving Day our temperature was mid 70s, that's warmer than usual.  We usually have some very cold days in January and February but by March, we are warming up again.   Thanks for asking.

Cynthia - As much as I look forward to your posts, this is one I'm wishing I'd have missed - the post itself is well written and informative - who wouldn't want to visit and check the area out?  That picture really does speak a 1000 words!  And on top of that I read in the comments how wonderful the weather is..you're killing me over here!  Do you have any idea how cold it is here in the Boston area tonight and it's not even February?!

NC for Less (Wish I had your name :0)
No, I cannot and I have tried different areas.  Fall is a beautiful time of year on the coast and our temperature are still pretty mild although we do have some cool days.  Thanks for stopping in and commenting.

Michael,
Where in NC did your friends' family move?  If you have never visited our beautiful state, you should plan a trip.  Thanks for your visit and comments.

Hello Jackie,
How cold is it there?  I do not envy the cold weather, anything below 70 is too cold for me. LOL.  We have not had a freeze yet but have gotten close. But  the next day the temps rose to the high 60s.  You really should come south, my friend.

Hi Adam,
You are right, lots of people from your area end up in paradise (NC).  :0)

Cynthia- today it was relatively warm, just rainy and foggy - not too bad at all and tonight it will be warm as well.  Tomorrow night will dip back into the 20's though...brrrr.

You and Elizabeth do make some compelling arguments for that big move!

Cynthia- LOL!  Yes and as cold as I've been all day, I've been dreaming too!  But it sure is pretty to watch the snow fall - now if only it would hurry up and warm up and melt!
