Vancouver Home Stager Attends Real Estate Staging Association Conference 2012 Las Vegas
One Conference all Vancouver Home Stagers should be attending is the RESA (Real Estate Staging Association) Conference. This important Conference brings together Stagers from across North America to exchange information, brain storm, share current trends and update skills. I was very excited to attend my 3rd RESA Conference and thought I'd share a few special moments.
Although the Conference is held at the Treasure Island Hotel, I have a special place in my heart for the Venetian Hotel across the road, and decided to hang my hat there for the duration.
My morning started with a quiet, zen moment by the pool at the Venetian, drinking my coffee and contemplating what was planned for the rest of the day.

The Venetian Hotel calms me. I love all the ornate ceiling ornamentation, and enjoy being serenaded in the elevators and hallways by tunes from Phantom of the Opera, and contemporary Italian ballads.

Once at the Conference, it was great to reconnect with Stagers from across Canada and the United States. We have a wonderful time catching up with our personal lives, as well as hearing how the Staging industry is clicking along in various parts of our respective countries.

The RESA Conference offers wonderful, motivational speakers and industry experts. This is media darling Cathy Hobbs, sharing tips on how to leverage your way with television appearances. She was a fountain of information and gave us great insight into the media world.

The Conference is also a great platform on which to present industry awards, recognizing those individuals and companies who have excelled this year. Here is a photo of Kathy Nielsen, Georgia Interior Solutions, being honoured for a staging award. Congratulations, Kathy!

The Real Estate Staging Association Conference is something not to be missed. This Conference is too important in taking our Staging businesses to the next level, thereby serving the public to the best of our ability. After all, the name of the game is to help home owners sell their properties as painlessly and successfully as possible!

Sally, looks like you had a really wonderful time at the conference and of course, fun in Las Vegas- who could not have a good time at the Venetian!!! I'm hoping that I can participate next year and get to meet you!
Sal Gal! Hey I'm in your pix! Woo hoo! It's funny when you look at your own photos you forget the plethora of otheres that were taken as well! Love the new wall paper! From the Vegas Market hmm?
Brian - Thanks so much - you're always so supportive!
Kim - I really hope to see you at RESA 2013 - you won't regret it!
Malcolm - I have to say, drinking all that Champagne and going dancing to the wee hours of the morning did get a little tiresome ;-) Apart from that, I had a great time, and you're right, it gives you that extra kick in the pants to improve some areas of the business that may have been lacking.
Joanna - You were missed! Write it in your calendar for next year - I'd love to meet you in 3D!
Peggy Sue! It was so great to hang out with you at the Conference - it was like Raincamp Part II! Actually, the reindeer is from the now defunct Nood (New Objects of Desire) store in Vancouver. Sadly, shortly after this photo was taken, he fell and broke his nose and had to go to reindeer accessory heaven :-(
Pretty swanky place the Venetian.................very cool, I could see myself hanging out there Miss Sally. I've been waiting for this post. Great to see you enjoying yourself with all of the other stagers. Some day I may join you at the conference............of course "some day my prince will come" too!
I am glad you are posting RESA conference highlights. Looks like you've had a lot of fun and motivated and energized. It is very cool to recognize our AR friends. Love all your pictures.
Awe. Thank you, Sally! That was sweet of you to include me. Each year, I get the distinct pleasure of helping to host the event. To have close to 300 stagers all over North America is such a special treat. I'm already looking forward to the next one.
Thanks again!
Kathy
Sally - sounds like a wonderful event! And I'm with you - I'd MUCH rather stay at the Venetian!
Roger - I can so see you at the Venetian, lounging by the pool! You must attend the next Conference - just make it happen - oh, and the prince, too!
Anna - I would have had even more fun if you'd been there!!! It's a very well run, high quality Conference.
Kathy - We all appreciate how much work you put into the RESA Conference. It was also fun to meet your two handsome boys! This year was another amazing year, and like you, I can't wait for the next one!
Sharon - It's fun to feel pampered for a few days and the Venetian had an amazing rate for their suites - it was hard to pass up. Also, it only took me 15 minutes, door to door to get over to the Conference at Treasure Island.
Thanks for sharing photos of our friends, Sally! I thought of you this morning when I saw a great little Eiffel tower at Office Max!
Sal Gal, Check out this new homesave page! You can get another animal head, but shiny! Magpie! https://www.homesav.com/catalogue/vendors/fine-arts-inc-gleaming-vases-furniture-and-more
Sally: Now that conference must have been fun. I recognized some of the AR members.
PS I love your new wallpaper and banner. Good Job!
Sally-I also spent time at the Venetian and loved it. Jimmy and I came a few days early to enjoy the sights. It was so much fun! I love the graphic, trompe l'oiel floors at the Venetian. We went to see" Love" and it was amazing....and the dueling pianos at the Palazzo were fun.
And Sally- Ireally loved seeing YOU-wish we had more time together xxoo
Looks like a great time! Thanks for sharing the photos, I enjoyed getting a peek inside the conference!
Julie - I sure hope to see you at the next Conference. I'd love to talk "Eiffel Towers and Cloches" with you!!!
Peggy Sue! Will definitely check out the shiny animal head. I also picked up an accompanying moose head - nose still intact!
Valerie - We had a great time - ha ha - I knew you'd appreciate the new wallpaper/banner - thanks!
Marianne - So glad you were able to catch some quality time with Jimmy. I saw LOVE last year and was so impressed - such a good show. Anything with Cirque du Soleil is amazing. More time together would have been great - let's make it happen next year!
Sharon - Seeing all the Active Rain peeps in real life is such a thrill. Plus, as a bonus, the Conference was full of great information and take aways to keep building our business. Next year?...
Sally -- it was great seeing you! It's such a blast every year, but this year really rocked my business! I came back and spent two days revamping my business plan with everything I learned!
Karen - It was great to see you, too! And good for you for actually taking action and implementing what we learned!
Hi Sally--I debated long and hard about attending the conference this year. Looks like it was a lot of fun. I have a hard time leaving Maui during the winter--even though the weather in Las Vegas is not too bad at this time of year. Perhaps next year!
Janet - It would have been so great to finally meet you. Although, that's a long way for you to travel for the Conference. And yes, it was fairly warm during the day, but by 5pm you definitely needed a sweater. Hmmm, maybe we should have it in Hawaii next year...!!!
Sally ~ your photos around Vegas are fun to see .... especially since I didn't get out of TI at all during the conference. Thanks for sharing them with us!!
Maureen - Oh, sorry to hear you weren't able to explore this time around. There's always next year... although I hear it may be in Texas - yee haw!
