The mama bird sure didn't like it. She was yacking at me while I was trying to focus. The nest was in a hanging plant on my porch.
We've barely had winter, but I think we're all looking forward to spring..........great photo Tammy.
Nice photo :) I've had bird nests in my hanging plants, and I always end up killing the plant because I'm afraid to water it.....
Good morning Tammy,
What a fantastic photo! Isn't it amazing where they will build a nest? We are having a very mild winter but last night we got a zinger and this morning it is 27!! Burrrrrr!!!
Dorie- yes, this little zinger of a cold snap (24 at my house) is what is making me dream of spring.
Wayne & Jean- luckily this succulent lived... does not require much water. LOL
Jared- I put it on my facebook page and someone said "cool nest" so I thought I'd show it bigger so folks could see the little bird.
Roger- yeah, us too. Of course I'm hopeful these couple of nights in the 20s that followed a couple of nights in the 30s is killing some bugs. We've still had mosquitoes and I hate those things.
Tammy-That is a cool pic but I didn't see the bird til somebody mentioned it. It is 22* here and was very windy yesterday. It has been a very mild winter which I love. While I like Spring I don't look forward to the higher temps that follow the rest of the summer. Hope you are doing well.
Tammy, We've had daffodil shoots poking up for months, but just noticed our crocus shoots are breaking surface! Hopefully no hail storms just after them bloom this year!
That's such a delightful little scene, Tammy! I often am amazed at places birds decide to nest. I remember one little bird that chose a hanging basket near my front door. When the grandkids would come to visit, the expression on the mother bird was, "I should have rethunk this spot."
Me, too, Tammy - me, too! The wind is blowing icy cold this Sunday morning around here (I'm not looking forward to leaving the house) but a little warm-up is on its way. Very cool picture!
Our temperature yesterday in Surprise was 81. It's pictures like yours that truly depicts the colder weather back east.
Great photo, Tammy. I was shocked this morning when I turned on the TV and they were predicting snow and sleet for a neighboring county. Seriously? We have had a chilly winter... will be happy to see Spring arrive.
Shirley- that doesn't sound encouraging as you are west of me
Sharon- we're on our third day of wind too
Bliz- snowed on my Crocus last year. This winter has been more southern typical, but I'm so ready for spring
Myrl- I can remember one at my Grandmother's house too. And her getting a flashlight so we could see the baby birds.
Andrea- I'm trying to heat up the house with my wood burning stove now. Not looking forward to going out to walk the puppies.
Leolinda- I'm totally jealous. TOTALLY
After a nice mild month we are going to cool down. I am sure two days in I will want spring back! Very interesting picture as mentioned!
Tammy what a cute picture! I didn't even see the bird at first until I saw it in one of the comments.
What a great photo, Tammy. Looks like the birds are looking forward to winter too.
Tammy ~ Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. I love watching the mountains come alive. Great Shot!
Hi Tammy,
I love spring but am not ready for it as we have really not had a winter yet. We need more rain here in Northern CA and snow in our Sierra's before spring sets in!
Tammy,
After the snow today, I am ready for spring!
Ann Hayden in snowy Wildwood, MO
Now that spring is nearly here, winter decides to get going. Ah, such is life!
