At the Risk of the PC Police can I say Ho Ho Ho and Merry Christmas

Well all I am a little scared this Holiday Season ( See I am morphing into a PC nut It's Christmas Not Holiday Season ) I have uttered two very deflammatory words in the title of this blog;

Merry Christmas

Ho Ho Ho

You see for years our Politically Correct crowd has tried to stamp out both Santa Claus and Christmas ( Maybe the Grinch is alive and well after all ). Local Goverments, Cities etc. Have Stamped out any nativity scenes or anything other that the Nuetered Holiday Season Slogan.

It seem that the Staffing Company Westaff has also gotten intot he act. In Australia ( down under ) they have been training Santa's to Say Ha Ha Ha, like histerical PC Hyena's, Instead of the traditional Ho Ho Ho. When called on the carpet there spokes hole back peddled with it was just a suggestion and at each Santa's Discretion. Hey all beleive this maybe we could sell a bridge to Westaff.

So what is going on in this world, We must respect everyone else's Religion and believe's and forsake our own. Recently there was a study done in the U.S. what was interesting was the respondents where of all faiths, Jewish. Muslim, Christian even atheists where represented. The consensus was they like the Christmas Season the way it was traditionally practiced. It was over 80% favored the traditional Christmas Season.

The alternative of course is to close all the retailers doors, Cancel all parties good cheer towards men etc. Cancel all paid days off and we could make December just another work month. You know like May, In this way we would not risk offending anyone. Kind of Like the Osterich and just stick our heads in the sand.

Well I for one want Good Cheer to ALL and For All to HAVE A HAPPY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS.

AND WHEN I HEAR SLEIGH BELLS RINGING I WILL ALWAYS LOOK TO THE ROOF TOPS IN HOPING TO SEE SAINT NICK YELLING

HO ! HO! HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !

Please anyone your thoughts on this matter would be appreciated.....

Coming from a Jewish Long Island Realtor, I'm all for ho ho ho!  I think Santa Clause is terrific and no one has ever decorated a tree better than I have!

My Menorah will be up soon, and then quickly after that...my tree.  My husband is Catholic and we agreed to share in each other's lives; that includes holidays.  I am not offended.

I believe anything that puts the hearts of mankind into a kind and giving mode is valuable and worthwhile.  To hell with all the politically correct crap...I'm with you!  Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and any other wonderful Holidays coming up.

Doug,

I am Jewish, and I want it to be Merry Christmas. You can't start changing the tradition just because someone may feel offended. The best part is that nobody would be offended, if not for us being so weak and accommodating everyone.

If someone does not like it, so what? They may not like it, but it does not obligate anyone to change the traditions because of that.

Life should be much more simple. If you do not want to speak English, learn English - get out. It drives me nuts when the voice system asks you to press one for English. We should not press anything for English. We may be pressing for Spanish, Chinese, Russian, but we do not need to have to press anything for English. This is humiliating. We, as immigrant, should respect the country we have chosen to live in.

It is difficult to blame me for being anti-immigrant, I came to US in 1991. But I consider asking everyone around me to allow me to create Little Russia indecent.

So, rather soon I will be sending cards out. And they will be Merry Christmas cards. Because I like to feel myself CORRECT. Not politically correct... simply correct.

Gail, I agree let's bring back everything Christmas or specific to a religions celebration of the Christmas Season, As you mentioned Happy Channukah. Maybe we can have a slap A Happy Holidays person week but I do not think I would be in the spirit of things. So Gail as you Said "Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and any other wonderful Holidays".

Good Will to All and to All Merry Christmas......

Jon, I agree, that it is irritating all of those others that try to force there feelings on us ( especially our Government in the name of diversity ). I to feel as the melting pot of the world ( I too can trace my family tree back to Ireland and Germany 1800 ish ) We should welcome all but with some ground rules like "Learn the language". By the way we should all embrace our past but look forward to our future as well. Maybe so many in the world might even stop hurting each other if they did.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and A Happy New Year.....

This made me so mad when I heard this and I was going to add it to my blog about zero tolerance, but decided it would make me even madder than I already was and decided against it.

Todd, Sorry to hear that this made you mad. I just posted my feelings. The fact that most of America likes Christmas and the traditional was of celebrating it poses the question " Who is it that wants to stamp out Christmas with the Happy Holidays Stuff?". I have never met anyone so far, Has anyone out there met someone that would trather go to work Christmas Day and receive no overtime for doing so ? Thanks for the post....

Merry Christmas, Ho Ho Ho and then if that sisn't enough how about Merry Christmas, Ho, Ho, Ho.  It's about time we stand up for common sense - this country was made great by diversity.  Should we change Easter to "Bunny Day" and Thanksgiving to "Macy's Day"?  You're my kinda' guy, Karen

Karen, Macy's Day Hmmmm I'm sure someone would have a problem with that too. I would like to stick with tradition.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Too !

PC sucks.  period.

It is what it is.  I don't go around screwing with other peoples holidays.  Why do they have to screw around with mine.

Long live diversity and acceptance of others traditions (as long as they accept mine).

Reciprocity counts.

Erby, I totally agree. When I am invited to someone else's Holiday celebration I do not try to change it, I embrace it. Thanks for the post....

Ho, Ho, Ho and Merry Christmas to you too, Doug!  I'm sick of all things PC--it seems that everything is offensive to someone these days.  Where does all this madness stop?
