Hi Gene - Sometimes, when I'm wondering why the major financial institutions are doing whatever they're doing, I'm also wondering whether the rest of us are on a different planet. Maybe they should start selling cars, designing computers, or growing wheat, since they obviously have no interest in providing financial services. It's good that these guys aren't the only game in town.
Perfect. I believe that my clients can do better than using the "big banks" for their financing. And, you are a perfect example of great service without all the "BS".
You are doing a great service with this post. Suggested.
Dick: Still chuckling about the "growing wheat" comment ... and I agree, most just seem to view the responsibilities of service a bit differently. Good thing ...
Don: Thank you for the suggest. Much appreciated. Ultimately it boils down to the quality of the individual loan officer ... and the limitations and time constraints within the banking system itself. Try to find a "big bank" lender on a Sunday morning ... or late at night. Typically doesn't happen ...

Gene, I haven't seen the best service, advice nor results lately from the activities of the big box banks.
Personally Gabe ... I think they've pretty much decided mortgages aren't their future. And I think they get in their own way regarding service. Way too big and cumbersome. At least that is what I'm hearing from clients, referral partners ... and THEIR service partners as well. Many are just avoiding them ...
Thanks for commenting ..

If banks don't want to do mortgage loans and they aren't after savings accounts, just what do the big banks want from us?
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? And I'm not sure I want to wonder TOO long, Elizabeth. And I doubt it's you or I they are really after ... unless you're making a whole boatload of big bucks and numbers with alot of zeros after them ...
Just my hunch. Thanks for writing. I always like hearing your input ...

Gene -- it seems the big banks are going to make some more money off the new settled lawsuit process, as I read they were going to be re-writing folks all the way down to 5.25%!!! Even though they are supposed to be writing down principal first, also, they will more than make that up in the extra interest income they receieve.
I'm sure there will be more details learned as time progresses, Steven. Just the more reason to look elsewhere (to me and you) for mortgage services. But first things first ... if it helps the homeowners that need it ...

The big banks 'think' they can string people along for 3 months before they begin processing only to string them along for another 6 months processing time after that. If I was a consumer, I would just go elsewhere & be treated well. Right?
Well, I'm hoping that's the message that came across within my post, Lyn. I just had another referral partner tell me that they will never ... never .. work with a client that is telling them they want to use one of the other big 5 banks. The processing just gets mucked up and slow every time, so they have decided to just cease working with them. That's hard to hear that someone within my industry is performing so badly, but on the other hand ..........

Gene: I say no. I will say the big banks name, BofA. I think most people get a bee in their bonnet when they want to do something. I would bet most people will go elsewhere which is good news for the rest of us. Thanks for the post!
Paul: I think so too ... and thanks for naming the culprit! And you're right ... it's like they're marketing for US! Which is more than okay on our part, right??

Gene- I use to work at a large bank many years ago. I can say the processing time is horrible and the loan file is in LALA land for weeks or months before the client is contacted. This is horrible service! The client needs to be aware of the status of the loan along with the Realtors so they can manage their closing accordingly.
Stephanie: I have two of my most successful realtors that will not work with a client, should they be using one of the big banks. Tell them to move on ... it's that bad. That should tell these companies something, shouldn't it?? But people seem to trust and revere them because they are so big. Amazing, given the service record ...
