pincushions in Santa Barbara

As we meandered through the Farmers' Market, I spotted a new flower that looked like fireworks in bloom.  I asked the vendor what they were and he called them "pincushions."  They are so beauiful and I took several shots of them, and even rearranged the bucket they were in for the second shot, so that the various colors could be seen in a better light.

Ron and Alexandra these are truly beautiful.  They reminded me  too of fireworks.  So glad you shared your farmer's market find.

Alexandra~I swear you could put them in the sea and they would look completely natural there, too! Isn't it fun finding something new that is so cool like this?

Oh, those are so beautiful! Where do they grow-sun or shade or partial? Wonder how long the blossoms last? I have never seen them before. But as CA goes so goes FL so they will be here soon :)  Craig said they look like fireworks.
