Have you ever waited a long time for something you really, really wanted?               Medina River

I have.

I wanted to live in the beautiful Texas Hill Country for twenty years.  We would come here for vacations and every extra long weekend we had.  This was our favorite place to come above all the other places we had visited previously to discovering the Hill Country.  The first moment I saw it, I knew I Had Arrived!  This was it for me.  I was home.  Everything I had looked for my entire life; Suddenly everything was in its place.  I knew this was where I belonged.

Yet, circumstances of life happen.  We don't always get to choose situations in our lives.  So it was with me.  But the Dream of living in the Texas Hill Country never left.  I thought about it a lot in between visits.  I even wrote a poem about the beauty of the area.

Dreams really do come true,                                                                       Tubing the rivers

if you Dare to Dream them.

I did and now I live my dream!

Ricki, I'm glad you are able to live your dream, not many people grab their dream like you did and live it.

Congratulations, Ricki!

I used to have a good friend in Kerrville, Texas but I've not talked to him in 15 years or more.  He was the owner of the YO Ranch and his name is Charlie Schriner.  Do you know if he's still alive and well?

Yes, Gail,     New dreams are important when your old dreams come true.  Keep on dreaming...I dream all the way down the river with my eyes upward and forward, my mouth singing, my heart dancing and my toes a tappin':)

Ricki, It's not the destination ... it's the journey but it sure does feel good to find your dream at the end of the road. Very heartening to read.

P.S. I like your cartoon. Tubing down a lazy river. How often do we get a chance to appreciate the blue sky overhead?

Andrew,   Not often enough!  But living here whenever I have time off, that's where I head.  You'd be surprised how many folks I run into at the river looking for a second home in this area!   Thanks for commenting!:)
