What would you be doing if...................

What would you be doing if you were told this was your last year to live?

Would you continue to wake up as you do now and go about your daily business in hopes that the outcome would change?

Would you go into a shell and hide?

Or would you start doing today what you have always dreamed of?

Do you have a Dream or a Goal that you keep tucked in the back of your mind.  A goal that scares you just a little bit when you think about it for too long.  Something that you want so bad that you can visualize yourself after you reach it.

Do those thoughts drive you closer to achievement or drive it further back in your mind because "it is too hard?"

I have long been a proponent of living my life to see what I am capable of.  Sometimes (many times) I don't get the result I want, but then a new opportunity always seems to spring up where my previous attempt left off.

The way I see it, we are all here on earth living today together for a reason, it is not an accident.  While we are here, why don't give ourselves the opportunity to achieve our biggest dreams.  If we need help along the way (and we all do), then why don't we help each other get there.

I have the dream of creating a society of people that no longer focuses on the negative aspects of life, but the positives.  A society full of people that enjoys the company of others and chooses to help others without anything in it for themselves.  Can you imagine the possibilities the world would hold if only we all joined the same team?

Seems a bit idealistic I know, but why not?

As I get older, I try to live eveyday like this. I appreciate more in life that when I was younger.

I had a medical issue this year and my wife lost her parents. I makes you realize the frailties of life. We all need to enjoy our lives and do what's best for us. Thanks for the post. I have to go squeeze my grand son.

I honestly wouldn't change much.  I've had an opportunity to live my dreams to a great extent, and while there is always more, I have learned the art of being content without being complacent.

Steve,  I know what you mean.  I am not that old (30), but circumstances when I was young forced me into real life at an eary age.  By the time I was 21 I already had enough negative life experience for a lifetime.  Since that time, I make the most of each day that I can.

Terry,  I am so sorry to hear that.  It sounds as if this has been a tough year for you.  I wish you the best.  It seems like the hard times are what makes us realize about all the good times we really have.

Rene, That is a great picture.  I don't see much ocean living in Texas.  Stop Blogging, oh my goodness.  How about this.  Write a post, then go relax and walk by the beach to unwind.

Hi Curt,

Interesting post!  If I only had a year to live--I would liquidate many assets and put money into advertising to get Katie's Law passed (katieslaw.org) first in my state and then the others that don't have it yet.  I would also spend as much time as I could with my friends and family.

Hopefully I wouldn't find out later that I had five more years to live and have had run out of money!

Leslie,  That is hilarious.  "Hopefully I wouldn;t find out later I had 5 more years to live."  That is too funny.  I'll check out katie's Law.  I'm not familiar with that.

Julianna,  It would be nice.  That's why this site is so great.  It is full of people that want new ideas, answers, guidance, and help.  My dream can happen, there are too many people that want the same thing!  It's just a matter of when everyone wants to start enjoying the benefits I suppose.

Curt: After reading your comment on my blog tonight, I HAD to come find out more about you. I'm so glad I did! You know...I'm an idealist also. YUPPERS...I believe that one person can change the world. BUT...just imagine what we could do if all of us idealist joined together and fought the injustices of this world. WOW!!!

Blessings, my friend!

Elizabeth,  Thank you very much.  I am honored that you found me!  I really believe that people can change the world individually too.  The possibilities are endless if we can all unite!!

Imagine by the Beatles is one of my favorite songs.  I certainly would request that they play that song at my funeral.  And before I die, I would want to quit work (if I financially could) and take art classes, travel, and read more books.  Be a beach bum.  I would eat chocolate everyday.  My days would start with a nice latte.  I would tell everyone every day often, I LOVE YOU.

Renee,  That is a great song.  Outside of the quitting your job, you could take art classes and read more, right?  I am all about the chocolate!  Thanks for feedback!

Don't get me wrong.....I love my work.  Can not imagine doing anything else to earn a living.  BUT...I need to be honest.  For my last year in life, I want to just play 24/7.
