Re-Blogs...I Think There is Place for Them...But 7 Re-blogs by One Person in One day?

I've seen someone recently who did that.  I don't really care.  It hurts them more than you and me.  However, I will say that I went on their blog to comment on a post by them and all I could find were the re-posts.  I didn't leave a comment.

You only get 25 points per reblog which is obviously why this person reblogged so many. He needed the points.

Reblogging is fine... I rarely do it but whatever if points are all anyone cares about then I guess they will do whatever the system allows

Mike, this is similar to those people who post all "10" of their weekly blogs (for 200 points each) at the exact same time.  You see their entire list appear on the Blog Page, one after the other.   It might be good for points, but that is about all.

I have long learned that this doesn't matter so much. Maybe they are point hogging... but it doesn't really affect me.

Sounds like a reblogging points grab to me ... but who knows, maybe they are just trying to build some content.

Interesting post, Mike - I reblog only when I see a great post and tend not to think aobut the motivations of others (my 2012 "zen" approach!)  :-)  Maybe Richard (#6) has a point...

I'll take the high road too and agree with Richard.  Internet content - visability, exposure.  Who knows.  I do re-blog and I realized something too - the effort it takes to re-blog could just go into my own post.  But I like helping others get the credit for the great post too and by re-blogging you allow others to read the post that may have missed it the first time around.
