  • Richard Cadbury, of Cadbury cream egg fame, invented the first box of Valentine’s Day themed chocolates in the 1880s.
  • 3% of pet owners give Valentine’s Day gifts to their beloved furry friends.

  • 73% of people who buy flowers are men.
  • In Medieval times people who couldn’t write their names signed with an ‘X’ in front of a witness. The ‘X’ was then kissed to show sincerity. Many believe this is how the ‘X’ symbol became synonymous with the kiss.

And for those not at the Valentine's Day Fair, in the middle of divorce, lost the spouse of sixty plus years, or just not involved waiting for the next date in the process of finding the right one to keep around, spend time with... well VD is handled differently. Do something fun for one. And probably couples celebrating and out to eat is not where you'll pick for enjoying the day built, centered around cupid harpooning the place you sit on. Alone can be okay too because it starts with not having to be in a relationship as the end all to be happy. But knowing two heads are better than one to share the fun, ups and downs in life's highway of twists and turns.
